who will buy/trade in for the 08.5 LNF cobalt??
But if the cobalt came out in awd with a 6spd other options etc it would make sense... But 2 cars basically identical except appearence. the sky and solstice were running 13.9 and 14.0 and they are rwd and wiegh less. So what you think a cobalt with the same motor will do? Gm pisses me off if they would get it right the first time they would control the tuner market.... Dodge and gm fucket up and i hate to say it but the new zxt focus or w/e its called is gonna beat them both.
I won't be trading. I love my car . And to be honest i really don't see the LNF cars blowing the LSJ's out of the water in performance. I'm not saying that the LNF doesn't have more potential than a LSJ , it does , but if the HP ratings stay at 260/260 crank i think a stage 2 LSJ should still be in the ball park.
I hope GM makes some better front end parts that will be interchangeable between the 2 cars, i would like to see improved axel's, CAB's and mounts .

Y wouldn't ppl just look to swap motors instead of trading in the whole car???
THIS IS MADNESS!!!!
No, THIS IS COOOOBBAAAAAALT
Swap the motors instead of trading it in ppl. lol THats what I'm looking into doing

It makes perfect sense. The Sol/Sky are the sports car for 27-30K, while the Cobalt is the tuner car for 20-23K. They are two completely different markets. I would assume 14.4-14.6 out of the new Cobalt bone stock. With stage kits probably into the mid to low 12's.
THe motor whill probably bolt right in. You'll just have to run new fuel lines and use the fuel tank, pump from the new SS.
The LNF doesn't have a blowoff valve, it has some sort of a bypass valve that always keeps the turbo slightly spooled. It takes a bit of work to integrate a blowoff valve and close up the bypass valve.
You also have to remember that the LNF doesn't have problems blowing up #4 piston due to fuel starvation, it has DI. The LNF also has much stronger stock internals, and will be available in 6speed manual. I think that is all I need to get myself a LNF balt. But I do currently have a 2.2L LS, so my opinion could be different than others.
I don't see GM making stage kits that will take the LNF to 350hp. Not even close. I see..
S1 : 280hp
S2 : 300hp
S3: 330hp on race gas
Going to 350hp on that maxed turbo from the factory is a maintenance risk.

agreed.
and i highly doubt S3 would make that power on stock turbo either.
lol, it has the VVT and DI wich i would think make it more interesting for tuning. + then i'm thinking maybe You could find a way of sticking a SC on it and then BAM, Twincharged. <granted, I'm dreaming about the twin charge, the LNF seems like more of a motor that wants to be tuned?
