With the LS3's out now. The C5 market prices are dropping like flies.

anyone?
The motor can easily handle 350whp, possibly 400. F40 is rated to 350tq. F35 will probably be upgraded to withstand the same amount of power. From my research so far, it seems as if the weak link for the sol/sky is their rear differential so they don't go much over 320wtq. But we don't have a rear diffi.

The rear wheel drive differential for the sky/sol is only rated to 260wtq, so I would be much happier with our tranny/diffi combo being able to take 350.

They don't use the same pistons because there is no way to have the same pistons with a direct injection engine.

Here you can kinda see the pistons in a cutaway. Definately different than the LSJ.

S2 : 300hp

Going to 350hp on that maxed turbo from the factory is a maintenance risk.
I was thinking that stage 3 might be an upgraded turbo.

Look at what the Sky/sol LNF's are doing with just a bump in boost from the stock 20 to only 23 resulted in an increase to 275whp and 305 wtq.

hahaahahahh hahahahahahah hahahahaahaahahahaha lmfao hahahahahha OMFG hahahahaha. That is all I have to say about that.

Being a ricer is more or less a persons attitude. Being rice is having a shitton of stickers for things you dont have and telling people your 19 second car runs 9's. The statement you made above is one of the more retarded things I have read on this site, and I have read ALOT of dumb things here.
x2...thank you mike!

The 2.4L sky and solstice have a good one. Hahn racecraft has a turbo kit that gets them between 400-500whp. But now since like 3+ cars will be using the engine....the aftermarket (AND SINCE ITS TURBOED!! )will most likely increase.

!!!! I'm with ya on that. There will be so many BOV threads and stuff. I prefer to stay SC'ed myself. But I can see it now "SS/SC's are slow Turbos are better" "No SC's are better, we will rape you" There will be much conflict and since its turboed..LOTS more people will be into this car, lots more jerks as well.

I will admit there are many SS/SC owners that downed the crap outta me, calling my 2.2L a POS and all that. Karma is a apparent.

But still, two wrong don't make a right, there will be mass fights...

It makes perfect sense. The Sol/Sky are the sports car for 27-30K, while the Cobalt is the tuner car for 20-23K. They are two completely different markets. I would assume 14.4-14.6 out of the new Cobalt bone stock. With stage kits probably into the mid to low 12's.
The SS/SC's fastest time stock is a 14.0-14.1, I don't see why the sky redline and solstice should be slower than a FWD car with less HP. The LNF balt, if numbers are good, should be a bit faster than the SRT-4 neons. Secondly, there are stock Saturn SKy Redlines Dynoing at insane numbers stock. In another forum there is a link of a saturn sky redline stock dynoing at OVER 300wtq, and over 260whp.

I also dont see the point of motor swapping, when it would be cheaper to turbo your LSJ.

and a turbo lsj will outperform a stock LNF
x2 to this also. A Turbo LSJ is much less expensive, and will out perform. The only thing I'd like to know more about is a LNF VVT-head swap on the LSJ. That I'd be VERY interested in hearing about. And if something about the tranny.

If the LNF balt has better axles, a return fuel system, and the head is swappable and give an increase...I will definitely look more into installing those parts onto an LSJ. I prefer the LSJ over the other engines myself.

Posting something on these when I get out of class.

With tuning that will void your warranty in a second and that also costs an arm and a leg.

You're not an idiot at all dude.

I was just wondering what you were talking about. But yes, it will be easy to get them over 300 with ease. *boost controller*. I'd rather take an SC over 300, and maybe to 400ish.

I may just do that but I wonder how much a custom turbo kit would run? If you think about it the curb weight will be a lot more then the s/c cobalt for sure.

Count me a +1 for the trade-in on an LNF Cobalt.

The main reason for me is that I've done a fair bit of research, and getting a Turbo to run smoothly on our cars has proven to be a very hard feat to accomplish or most. They are apparently an annoyance to tune.

now heres a good question... with this being a stock turbo, (and turbos have almost endless power possibilites, just depends on supporting mods) what makes this motor get soo much more power than garrett's alpha kit? how much boost does gm run stock?

and ps... if anyone around greensburg irwin area buys one and wants to work on it i will help for free lol

hmm... i just thot of something. the G8 gt has 8 cylinders, the G6 gt has 6 cylinders but why does the G5 gt only have 4 should they have named it a G4??? lol i guess i was thinkin more along the lines of srt's with dodge

I most likely will within a year. Would be nice to have a car with 260HP out of the box and fully waranteed. Depends a lot on price and options though. If I don't like what I see I will just turbo mine!
