from ZX3 to cobalt??
from ZX3 to cobalt??
i have decided to sell my zx3, cool. now i'm thinking about buying a 2.0 ss/sc, but from what i've read, there are a ton of problem right from the get-go. i know every car out there has it's fair share of problem, but coming from ford, i don't want to go through that many problem again.
are you happy with your purchase and would you recommend the ss/sc despite mechanical issues.
thanks for your time

Well, my fiancee doesn't have a Supercharged Cobalt, but she has a base model 2.2. It's been a great car so far. It's never left us sitting or anything gone wrong except one thing. Her check engine light came on and the dealer said her ECU was bad. They said it was safe to drive while her new ECU came in. Car still ran fine, few days later they installed the new part and the car is still running like a champ. Everything was covered by warrenty. I highly recommend any Cobalt personally.
p.s.- her car is the 2005 model

I had a SS/SC and never had any problems that stopped me from using the car. The only things that had to be repaired were the rotors which had to be turned, my rear view mirror, and my trim was starting to fail but that would have been warrenty work. I only sold it because it had FWD and i wanted something better. It was my first FWD car and i thought it wouldn't be too bad but it makes it so hard to do any of the work myself with everything shoved in there. It was definitly a fun little car and mine scooted pretty good. I would say if you like FWD then get it, you won't regret it.
i have an 06 ss/sc and i have had 0 problems with the car so far.. i am extremel happy and would recommend it to anybody..
the clutch problems you read about i believe personally have more do to with the driver then the car itself.. i been driving cluthes for years and have experiened 0 problems

its mostly the 05's that are having the problems, being that its the first year that the car was released.. i've had a few problems with mine, but all of my friends with 06's havnt seemed to have any, or at least anywhere near the amount of problems i've had.
I have a basic cobalt that also had the ECU problem from the beginning, but the dealership fixed it and the car's pushing fine. Question though, what can I do to make the check engine light go off because of my headers and AEM cold air intake. Any suggestions, please let me know!
