so just using acetone on the DIC will make it that grey/white colour? and does this also work for the headunit display screen too?

Last post was in jun but I'm pretty sure that's all he did.. Took the tint off with acetone.. Theoretically we could probably do the same on the radio and it would work..

No and no. Acetone only removed tint from cluster. It still be be green unless you add a film to change the color.

What face color is this? Black or white? hard to tell at night. I want white but I want mine to look like this at night.

so i changed my HVAC board to white LEDs and it looks great when i powered it on

but when i went to put the faceplate back on, i get this ugly thing

so i took a look at the back of the faceplate and noticed a blue film/tint on most of the ares that light shines through

so im just wondering what the easiest way would be to take off this film? other people here that have posted pics of pure white or pure red HVAC controls, what did you do? most people change to blue leds so it doesnt matter for them but it does for any other colour it seems. im thinking of grinding/sanding it off or perhaps a chemical removal perhaps acetone might work?

ur hvac looks good. so u only used 4 of those leds? and did you do anything with the red portion of the hvac to prevent color blending?

right right ya that i can tell but great idea to overcome the fact that just replacing the 4 incandesants with LEDs would loose light output

white wouldnt be able to shine through the blue film without it turning it blue too much

you cant remove the blue tint. i tried with acetone and it started to remove the black paint of the hvac itself. it seems they painted the hvac from the back of the plate and then put the blue tint on top. unfortunately cant be done with white leds
