Everything has me confused because there are a million different ways told in this thread. After reading, my plan right now is to tap into the signal wire coming off the 02 before the cat. For power, tapping into the fuse shown on here that doesnt have constant power on the one side and adding an add-on fuse. What amp fuse should be used in the add-a-fuse? The instruction manual for my gauge says to attach the power wire to a 5amp fused spot. The one shown is 20amp I believe. Is there any other means of power that I can use for the gauge where it will not be constantly on? Such as a power wire in the ignition wires in the steering column or something? Any help is awesome, thanks!
Since you are adding another fuse put a 5 in there you will be fine. I never had any trouble with my setup, but everyone is different.

The OP of this thread they stay on whenever ignition key is turned on.

If you want the light to turn on only when the lights are on. Run the light or power wire to a fuse that only turns when you turn on your lights.

I chose the location I did for easier access. And if I ever had to replace the o2 sensor did not want to rewire gauge up.

Just installed my gauge and nothing happened. My ? is even if i'm not getting a proper signal and i have power, should the gauge still light up?

bump

I guess i should also add,the gauge is from faze and it has another set of wires. They are supposed to hook up to the dimmer and then ground.

Make sure its attached to the rear o2 sensor wiring.

A lot of purple/white wires. Have to make sure you have the correct one.

Unlike yours, I have 3 different looms.. Yours only has 1.. Shouldn't I just be getting a full light bar even if the sensor isn't plugged in? As long as it has power and a ground it should do SOMETHING should it not? And why are some people saying purple/white and others are saying only purple?

Find the rear o2 sensor. Follow the wires. Or just run one long wire down to the rear o2 sensor and splice it there. Make sure you splice it after the connection that way if you ever have to replace rear o2 sensor or take it off you do not have to resplice the gauge everytime.

someone with a manual should just look up the wiring diagrams that correspond to the O2 sensors...

That would be optimal.. Many different combinations..

But if you want to run right to the sensor it's self.. Which one do you go to and how do you hook it up..?

Trace the one that is coming from your rear o2 sensor. Just put the car on ramps and trace it. Or get a paperclip put in back of connector and touch wire to see if sensor jumps and bounces that its on the signal wire.

I recommend tracing first.

So just jack up the back of the car and run a wire for the signal all the way to the rear 02 sensor instead of running to that wire in the loom? How exactly do you splice it into the sensor? I've only even spliced wires into wires / wires into fuses..?

That is pointless. Take your finger find the wire, and take your time and find it closer. No sense in running 10ft of wire when you only need to run 3ft. You cut it. Strip both ends and the end of the wire your adding. Solder them together.

Its definately one of the 3 purple wires tho?

I tried 1 of the 3, and when I touched hte signal wire to it, it jumped from one side of the gauge (no signal) to the other and never moved or wobbled. I tried giving it some gas, and never budged. I assume, it was getting a signal, but not from the right wire correct?

Now I have a 50/50 chance of grabbing the right one on the second try? If it works, and wobbles im good to go?
