Keep trying till you get one that gets a variable signal. This is why paper clip in the back of the connector is the best route.

I thought that running it to the actual sensor was an optimal signal? I'd rather not rip open 3 wires if not necessary..

You are. Use A PAPER CLIP AND PUT IT IN THE BACK OF THE CONNECTOR AT THE PCM. That saves you from probing and cutting wires.

The wire comes DIRECTLY from the sensor. The only break is at the harness connector at the sensor.

Not yelling just making sure you guys can read it as this is the 3rd time I've posted it.

eh I used a knife to scratch a very small amount of the plastic off the wire. then I took the wire from the gauge and tocuhed it to that small spot. Once I Found out it wasn the right wire, I put a piece of electric tape over it.

ya, probably not the best way to do it, but it works, and is easy, since I cant open the part to see where the wires plug in at.

Take a pic of your engine bay. Should be a simple cover you just pull up. May have to move a coolant hose(reserve tube). But that is about it.

I solder. That was is just too risky for me. Radios yeah I crimp, but this is a critical wire that can be affected by outside elements if not properly located or spliced.

Once I find the right wire, i am going to use one of those connectors that crimp down on the wire, and cut into it, and have a connector for the new wire. If forget what exactly it is called, but ya, ive never had issues and agree w/ AWG, but obviously you will need to seal it back up afterwards. Whats the difference between some plastic wrap vs electric tape for shielding? Nothing, its just keeping 2 metal pieces from touching one another

Well aside from this a/f gauge, how do you run sensors for other gauges? As in a tranny temp gauge or some other gauge you would use? I'm getting a triple pod, so I'll need to run another two wires as well.. Same basic way as for this but just splice into something different..?

Use heat shrink. Electrical tape wears off over time. For my power wire for all 3 sensors I just joined them into one to make wiring little less painful. Make sure you have it in a circuit that can tolerate the amount of power needed.

ya, im running all three of my gauges off the stock boost gauges power cable. It seems to work fine, as all 3 light up and opperate properly.

Just saying be careful NOT to overload a circuit. Should be fine, but I have to look at wire schematic to be certain.

i have a question, I have somethin similar to the cobalt air fuel ration guage. It has three wires and my friend told me to connect it to the blue wire on the header O2 sencor. It came on and it danced for a little while and when i drove around all it did was dance. when i asked him about his, he had hooked it up the same way and his works fine. there both identical except for the name brand of it. does anyone know why it wont get a reading right or if i may have did somethin wrong. I read the thread here but when i looked at my wire harness theres a few purple wit white stips, so any help or ideas plz

More information about the gauge please.

The gauge used in the tutorial was a Summit Racing gauge.

That's what a A/F gauge does...jumps around as the signal is always variable.
