Ive done the same mod but used different leds. I found these at a local Autozone only 12 bucks there. They work really well, light up the white the gauges and not the entire area. Ill get pics later on tonite. Heres a link to them on amazon.

nah, you could leave these on for like a year and you'd still be fine. l.e.d.'s take out very little power from the battery.

to tap into the cig wire i just spliced into the wire that was attached and used the wire that came with the LED's if you want you canthrow a fuse onit but it's not gonna draw that much power and also the cig liter is on a fuse already

your need:
ultra thin LED strip (can be found at pep boys)
electrical tape
a switch
wire splicers

What your going to do is, on the back side of the steering wheel there is a flat part where your going to mount the LED strip to.. measure that and then cut the Led strip down remeber to only cut off the side that is not attach to the wires..
then clean the surface with rubbing alcohol or windex and let it dry.. position it so that the leds will glow twords the gauges and up into the cluster.
run the wires back behind the steering colom and down under the kick pannel..attach the (+) wire to any 12v source.. i used the second cigg litter in the center consol.. you can also use a fuse tap and attach that to a 12v fuse in your fuse box.. attach the (-) to a grounding source.. you can place a switch anywhere in your car i placed it just under the radio next to the cigg litter... here are some pics of where it is located and what it should look like

this is where the LED's are located

this is my first "how to" so if anything seems confuseing just send me a PM and I'll help you along

just wondering how you managed to keep the LED strip attached under your radio. i have one there right above the 1st cig lighter ad it keeps falling off
