I am on step 8 and I can't get the clip (grey part) that you stick on the very bottom of the shifter to clip back onto the shifter cable. I just can't get it. I tried needle nose plyers and I broke the very tip of the grey piece off. WTF
hey man this is ganna sound wierd but hey **** happends. but if you let the clip open to much before you slid it on the cable is wont clip. the grey clip part has to be in a certin postion when you slide the cable in to allow you to squeez it shut you can just leave the clip wide open and then slide in the cable. does this make sense? thats as clear as way as i could think to put it. it might be that easy fix but its worth a try
Alright I got that damn clip back on the cable today and everything else went smoothly.
Likes and Dislikes about the Hurst STS:
Likes:
It feels better than the stock shifter.
It looks way better than stock shifter.
Throws feel slightly shorter.
Dislikes:
1st & 2nd gear are tight.
Reverse lockout must be used to get into reverse but then goes back to normal position while still in reverse unlike stock shifter.
Pain in the ass to install.
All-in-all, it's a decent STS

i don't want to ask a stupid question, but just checked the hurst website. is the hurst shifter that is in reference here a quick stick shifter, part number 3914040? Also, on their (hurst) website, thist shifter is used for 2005-2007 cobalts, will this fit my 2009? What if any are the major differences from an 2007 and an 2009 shifters? (waiting for everyone to stop laughing) Thank you to all that awnser my questions. Any your welcome for the laugh
