I have an LS and dont have one... Does anyone know where I can get a grey armrest? I know gm parts direct had them but you can no longer purchase them on their website anymore. I've been wanting an armrest and with my tax return I can I finally afford one. It sucks being a college student...

Just got mine installed! HOW THE **** did you install that without taking off the console?!?!?!?! I tried and I couldn't do it. No matter how much I flexed the plastic I couldn't get the bracket inside. So I bit my teeth and proceeded to take apart the center console. Took an extra 20-30 mins, but I wasted like 15 trying to skip that step.
Anyway, having a short throw shifter makes it a little weird for me. I'll get used to it though, i'm not worried about it. I do like it a lot though.

cobalt armrest | eBay
All of those come with the cup holder, it's just part of the package.

Was the 1st mod I did the weekend I bought the car along with hid's wish I had seen this how to since the instructions were good but not great. I do a lot od highway driving to and from work and aside from getting in the way when fully engaging the ebrake it is a Awsome mod they should have came like this. Took me about 30 min and I got mine from modern performance since their down the road a bit and had it in stock. Instance gratification is always the best. Next is the rpd since I sat in a 2010 and liked it more than my simple boost gauge.

ok i wound up getting mine on ebay for a shade under $95 shipped, and was barely able to skip taking apart the whole console, LOL. I could just by a hair manage to squeeze the metal piece in, and then SCREWING it in took even longer cuz of the awkward bolt placement against the console ... SO i'd recomend taking apart the console. however, minus that, i was done in yea like ten minutes! doesn't get in the way of the ebrake, holds things like a wallet, cigs, work phone and another misc. item at the same time, which is great because really i had nothing before
anyway thanks for the writeup, i wouldn't have known we could do armrests if it wasn't for this post!

Just installed mine $110 from the dealer in Canada. Probably burned a few calories doing it in the sun on my lunch break with the windows down. Other than that it is a sweet mod/upgrade. Can't wait for todays commute.

I know this is a very very old thread, but when I went to install this into my 2009 SS, there was no way to slip the base plate in. No amount of finaggling seemed to work. I have to pull the console up or something. We're the 2005s that much different?
