Gm part 19157354

CrateEngineDepot.com and GMpartsdirect.com both have them, GMP is a bit cheaper, both come from GM suppliers, so you know you get everything correct.

I looked on ebay before i bought mine and they didnt have any. Im sure you could just order directly from your local dealer, but i have a feeling it will be really expensive that way.

I say just go to GMpartsdirect.com parts and enter part #19157354

It comes with everything, as long as you use that part number.

The pix illustrates a tan color, but it say for illustration purposes only. Does it prompt you to choose a color or should I assume its going to be black? Thanks for any info.

so this was a special order part from gmpartsdirect

ordered on January 4th, and it just got here yesterday morning, so now goes the install, i'll post pics when i'm done!

wish me luck...

EDIT:

Installed and working great! The instructions like OP said requires you to take apart the whole f-in center console and i didnt want to mess with that if i didnt have to... getting the metal bracket to fit was a pain in the ass, but i eventually got it in there, took about 20 minutes of fiddling with it.

Back two bolts were easy, front two were a pain also (this will be easy if you take apart the console as instructed). After that it was cake, and everything fits amazing. YES, the ebrake is harder to mess with but i'll take one negative for so many positives of extra space (although limited), comfort, and looks.

Here are a few pics:

I have an 09 Cobalt that I think I am going to give back to the finance company. I've only made two payments on it so I haven't lost a ton of money on it.

I have been trading some of the parts from the 09 to my 06 such as the window/lock buttons and trim, battery, spare and yes, even the complete headlight assembly. Last thing I want to try to do is take out the center armrest and put it in my 06. Is this all pretty easy to do? The pictures don't really show how to take apart the console too much.

Thanks, oh and all of these parts I already traded before I decided to give up the car except the arm rest.

Just installed mine today. I didn't take the console out to install the arm rest bracket, simply removed the 4 screws to allow movement of the console, just enough to slip the bracket under, and presto, in it went. I used a ratcheting wrench in combination with ratchet and sockets to do the install. It was a fairly easy install, and thanks to those who helped provide the necessary ordering information.

Yeah, that!! I'm confused because it never asks for your color selection. They give you the part number, but no color selection (I know part #'s are specific to colors, but I tried typing in the 17xxxxx part number and it takes me to the same exact page on gmpartsdirect. Thanks for any input as well!!

I just installed mine in my 09 SS Sedan. It took about 20 minutes to install. I love it. Not only do I get an arm rest for long trips, but I get some much needed interior storage for GPS, sunglasses, etc.

I can pull the parking brake all the way up and it doesn't touch the arm rest. It's just a little awkward reaching around it to pull the brake up when I park.

Remember you can just flip the whole thing up out of the way at any time and it's like it's not there. Perfect.

17800082 - Armrest Package - Ebony, QTY: 1.00 @ $69.30 = $69.30

Subtotal: $69.30
Discount: $0.00
Shipping: $12.95
Taxes: $0.00

The total amount charged is $82.25

A word of warning about gmpartsdirect. Be DAMN sure you are ordering the right part. The only SAFE way is to email them with your needs. The on line catalog is not accurate and if you order something going by the on line catalog description you eat it if you OR THE CATALOG IS WRONG!!!

I wanted to add a horn to the pitiful single note that came on the car.

Case in point. Everybody follow me on their site. First you click to browse the catalog. OK? Now to get to the catalog you have to click on a disclaimer. READ THE WHOLE DISCLAIMER. OK? Now search for a 2007, Chevy, Monte Carlo, headlight. With me so far? Click on electrical. Then on horn. Look at the listing. THEY FIXED IT SINCE YESTERDAY and I'll tell you why. Yesterday everything, connectors, horns and relays were all in one listing. Two days ago there were 5 or 6 choices. The top one was "HORN ASSEMBLY, blah, blah (HIGH AND LOW NOTE) $67.15/$34.92 Now, I guess I hit a nerve. I feel good about myself.

Here's where the problem came in. See where it says HIGH AND LOW NOTE (they have fixed it now)? If you saw "HIGH AND LOW NOTE" in a parts listing what would expect to receive? I ordered the HORNS that were advertised and I received ONE HORN of unknown note. I sent an email, they don't list any phone numbers. Convenient huh?) to tell them there was a problem with their listing. They emailed me back with their web page with ALL THE DISCLAIMERS HIGHLIGHTED. I sent another email to try to explain more clearly what exactly was the problem. I ordered the RIGHT part according to their description in the listing on THEIR WEBSITE. They resent me the same email as the first time.

They provide NO phone numbers AT ALL on their website. The parent company is a Chevy dealer in NC. called FLOW GM Auto Center. I called and asked to speak to gmpartsdirect and got hung up on. I called again and asked for parts and got a guy named Scott. I asked if this was gmpartsdirect and he stumbled a little and said yes. I told him my problem and he immediately started reciting all the disclaimers on the web site. HE HAD THEM ******* MEMORIZED!!!! He said there was nothing he could do for me. I should have read the disclaimers and/or emailed to find out what I was ordering. WTF!!! This is where I'll cut to the chase. After 30 minutes trying to get him to do something about the problem and him reciting the disclaimers I told him, no problem, I'd keep the ONE horn and a copy of the listing because I would need it as evidence in my law suit for false advertising. That didn't phase him. They must hear that a lot. But when I told him I would file a complaint with the BBB and PAYPAL he caved. At first he was going to give me back what I paid for the HORN LESS A 20% RESTOCKING FEE, plus I paid $12.95 shipping and handling for a total of $46.85 I had spent and I would have to send it back on MY nickle. Almost an hour later and many threats, no PROMISES, he agreed to credit my debit card the entire $46.85. But I still had to ship the horn back which cost me $6.42 USPS Priority WITH INSURANCE AND RETURN RECEIPT.

My fingers are tired. So do yourselves a huge favor and shop else where. There are lots of alternatives. At the very least. email them your needs and let THEM tell you what you need. And keep copies of all emails. Doing it this way will probably take 4 or 5 days longer to get your part and it will only cost you a little more. $12.95 shipping and handling. What a crock.

One last note. I reordered the SAME horn from Rock Auto. Cost me $40.60 shipping and all. And I get it in two days. gmshitheads took over a week. I've done business with Rock Auto in the past and was very satisfied. At least I got what I ordered.

I'd be happy to send you a copy of this if you will give me your email address.
Happy trails.

Just installed, IMO it was a pain in the ass though. Between separating the console wider to get the piece to fit in to actually getting the arm rest on and "tabbed" into place, it took me about an hour. Oh well, I got the thing in and I now have more storage space and an arm rest! Woohoo!
