I'm in New Brunswick, went to two dealers, they both said the same thing.

Can you get a part number from your dealer ? If so, I'll go back with this info, maybe they just don't understand what the hell I want??? thanks. Used to live in Ottawa, by the way. My wife's from Aylmer.

try gmpartsdirect.com, should get a hell of a lot cheaper. I paid about $90 for mine from there.

The $ 118 is Canadian funds about the same as $ 90 U.S. Hey thanks for the write up on the install, my wife got me the armrest for X-mas. Your instuctions helped me get it done in about 15 minutes. hardest part was squeezing in the metal brace. Thanks again.

Steve.

Screwing those bolts in took forever. I didn't even get to tighten one of them... serves me right for being too lazy to remove all the plastic, but it's stable and doesn't rattle!

Scratch that... the hardest part was the half hour I spent rubbing all the blood off my seats and carpet. Excuse me while I pour rubbing alcohol all over my tomato hands.

That would be your problem, I'm also from New Brunswick, most things here are far more expensive than they should be. Which dealers did you go to?

yea, good write up!! those factory instructions lol .anyhow I just oblonged that front passenger console clip hole with my exacto knife and used a small 3/8 ratchet extension thru it .I didnt have my 1/4inch set with me or I might have been able to fit it without the oblonged hole but the clip still holds tight and it only took 7 minutes so what the hey.

I installed armrest today, took 30 minutes. I used Phils instructions from here instead of the instructions that came with it. To make things easier as an addition to Phils writeup:

To get the bracket in it's easy move seats all the way up and remove the 2 7mm screws on the side of the console. This will allow you to lift the rear of the console up far enough to slide the bracket under the console.

To tighten the front screws I used a 1/4" ratchet, push extension thru the slotted hole then put the socket on the extension and screw away.

I put an armrest in my 05 SS and as far reaching the handle, I just use an under hand grip to pull it py instead of an over the top of handle grip. Putting my armrest in was a great improvement in personal comfort for driving.

Ps, bigworm you pay the shipping and you can have my cup holder.

Has anyone with the G85 package done this?? I couldn't tell from people's sigs if they had it or not. I was just wondering if maybe the seats were wider or something, I am concerned with the arm rest rubbing on the seats.

I installed mine on my SS with G85 today. It does rub on the passanger seat (which makes me a little nervous. It misses the driver seat by about a 16th of an inch. Overall, it fits well. It took about 25 minutes to install.

I was on the Chevy lot yesterday looking at the new '07 models and noticed the armrests were flush against the passenger seat.

Exact same thing with mine (I have G85). I keep it up around the city and then pull it down when I am on the highway. I will do with the rubbing because I couldn't go without, I drive too much.

underside of armrest

Hi,

I'm trying to decide a good place to install a universal power window kit. I am wanting to mount the switches underneath that armrest you bought. could you please take a pic of what it looks like underneath so that i can see if it is possible to mount a small box with switches? I have tried googling and checking out gm's webpage but cannot find any pics. Any help or advice would be appreciated!

Thank you!
