Its not manditory in all cases.. but while your in there, its nice to put one in to be safe..The last thing you want is an exhaust leak. + They are pretty cheap.

The best way is obviously with a tune. But there are little resisters called antifoulers that you splice into the O2 sensor wires. I don't know much about them though. I've never had to use one..

Maybe start a new thread about it?

Some help please

Hey,

I'm in the process of installing the zzp header/dp combo on my 2.2L. For the life of me, I can't break the 3 15mm header to manifold nuts loose Did you do it from the top or bottom? I've only been trying from the top (for an hour). I use lots of PB Blaster but the bastards are really stuck.

Thanks

I went at it from the bottom. try using a few extentions so you can get some leverage. BTW If you are replacing both the header and DP you shouldn't have to undo the header/DP connection. Just take them out in a solid piece

i was looking on alldata and it is showing that the header nuts be torqued to 10 ft lbs which is 120 in lbs.
The graphic here is showing 106 in lbs, that a big difference, which one is right?

I installed a obx header and dp I got from JTLucas (forum member). After the initial install i had a leak on the passenger side of the header somewhere, so today, I took it off and put the factory gasket back on, as it was still in great cond. I torqued all the bolts down correctly and in order. Also, when I had the header off this time, I checked to see if there was anything on the block. I cranked it up and still a leak in the same spot.
Any ideas? maybe a better type of gasket?

Chances are, the flange is warped.. but there are thicker gaskets that can sometimes fix this issue..

Check out http://www.remflex.com/ they have some good gaskets!

yes. most headers come with a gasket, if not you can usually reuse your old one

Nice man I am glad I found this write up - Im installing a Vibrant Header/DP combo on my SS/SC tomorrow, hopefully this goes smoothly. Read all the previous posts so hopefully I can avoid some of those same problems others have been having. Thanks for posting this, you've taken my fears of conquering this away lol
