Electrical: How to install an Interceptor.... :D

OK seems to be some confusion on this, so I will post up my install of the Aeroforce interceptor.
You have to start by taking this hex bolt out of your a pillar. I am not sure of the size, but IM pretty sure its in any standard issue hex set as its in mine.

Once you have it removed the A-pillar should just pull out. There are 3 small clips holding it in place. You cant break anything so just pull it and it will pop off.

This is what holds the stock gauge in place. 2 small bolts. Losen these and the stock boost gauge should pull right out. also you must unclip that clip.

The Interceptor will not stay in place the same as the stock gauge. If you LOOK CLOSELY here you can see I wrapped the rim of the Interceptor with Electric tape.
I wrapped arround until it fit snug in the housing.

Here you can see it snug in place, and keeps it from moving and falling out. Very easy way to mount it IMO, and allows adjustment on the fly if needed

Here is the stock harness that was connected to the stock boost gauge. I cut this off of the boost gauge and used tapped off the pink wire to power the new Interceptor.
You can just tap off a wire if you find it easier as you dont have to damage the stock wiring, however I found this way more effective.

Here is the stock connector from the stock gauge spliced into the interceptor wiring.

Here is another clsoe up.

This shows how I ran the ODBII cable. I just pushed it inbetween the plastic and the weather stripping using a flat head screw driver. Very easy and once its back there its not noticable at all.

Once you have that completed you will have something that looks like this.

I just pushed the excess wire up and into the crevace, again completely un-noticable.

After that. Just reconnect everything and push all the excess cables down near where the A-pillar first inserts itself. Push the A-Pillar in place and make sure all three clips click. Then put the bolt back in and your good too go. of course before you completely reconnect everything you may want to turn your car on and make sure the gauge works incase you need to double check your wiring.

how to operate interceptor
Man I am having problems operating this guage!, I have no clue what so ever what most of the options are... also can anyone tell me how to program the shift light? I spent about 30 mins trying to figure out how to operate this thing and I got no where... I read the instructioons and all it says is use the left button to navigate and the right buttin to select... so when I select all I see is a star next to it and it doesn't allow me to program anything...

This is deff. a great thread, but I feel I need to add some missing information that will make installation easy as hell. I recently purchased my interceptor gauge, and was content with pluging and unpluging it into the OBD2 connector. Well, I got tired of that real quick, and wanted to have it power up when I turn the car on. I followed some of the posts in this thread for parts needed like the add-a-fuse, extra wire, and where to plug it into the fuse panel, but things didn't go very smooth at first. I tried the windshield wiper fuse, ignition fuse, sunroof fuse, and power window fuse. Nothing seemed to work. The add-a-fuse has 2 slots for fuses. If you put the fuse in the wrong slot while trying to run it through the ignition fuse it would frig up the boost gauge setting and cause a CEL. (The boost gauge will go back to normal once you reconnect the ignition fuse into the fuse panel). If I tried it on any other fuse it wouldn't allow the accessory to work. I checked all connections on my power wire from the gauge to the add-a-fuse, making sure they were perfect. I then took a voltage reading to determine if I was in fact getting power. As long as I had the fuse in the 2nd slot (the slot furthest away from the add-a-fuse connection prongs) I had power. I then re-read the Interceptor instructions to make sure everything was correct, and noticed it says to remove the little (red) jumper off the 2-prong connector on the back of the gauge if you are going to use a 12v power source. After making these adjustments, and placing the add-a-fuse in an "EMPTY" slot on the fuse panel (slot #22 to be exact) the gauge fired right up properly !!!
Cliff Notes:
1. Make sure to remove "Red" jumper from 2 prong connector on the back of the gauge.
2. Make sure to place the fuse in the 2nd slot on the add-a-fuse (the slot furthest from the connection prongs). I used a new 10A fuse on mine.
3. Check all connections.

I didn't know about using unused slots in the fuse panel. Any pics of where you inserted it?

i didnt snap any photos, but if you look at your fuse panel diagram on the back of the cover panel you will see where the empty slots are. I used "empty" slot #22. i don't know if they changed the layout of the fuse panels between years, but just double check where the empty slots are if you decide to try it 
Ya do you know how much stuff comes up when you search "Interceptor Gauge"? WAY too much to sift through... then It took me a while to find the how to section, haha and I just went page by page.

I bought a pair of used dual interceptor gauges off kijiji. It came with the main wire that connects to the OBDII,and the six pin wire connector. These gauges are a year and a half old and are firmware 2.2.
My question is when i hooked them up and turned the car on for a few min,the gauges were on for about 15 seconds and shut off. For me to turn them on again I had to pull the 2 pin connector from the back and plug it back in.
Do I need to get the 3 pin wire connector to keep them powered and on,or is there a setting I need to configure with in the gauge ????
Please help a newb here out !
