i can post up a few pics in a bit, g2 wash the car and pick up grandma for father's day dinner.

i painted mine so that when the hood is closed, you see the grill just fine. when it is open, i tried making the line for the paint lok like it fades into the stock plastic color... i didn't use tape on that top part to achieve that look (by accident of course lol) but in hindsight it worked. will post up later.

Thank you very much. I bought some stuff (not big enough so I gotta return it and find some that fits) because I'd like to do this today but I want to make sure it looks right with the hood open.

totally forgot to upload pics of the grill... I never did after I made it last summer using this how-to, thanks again 2K5SS/SC?

I'll take a pic tomorrow of the top part. Just line it w/ tape so only the part you see is black, and when you pop the hood it still looks original, and you won't have painted over the stickers placed on that piece.

work with it. unclip a few then pry up that side with something and then do a few more then adjust your wedge until you unclip them all

I have my top grill painted a beautiful silver and nice wire mesh painted flat black and formed to the grill opening.... But I am having some serious trouble coming up with a good method of mounting the mesh to the back of the grill. Does anyone have suggestions on how to securely mount the mesh? Possibly some pictures of the backsides of these completed units? I'm 90% with this mod and really want to finish it!!

Do you have to remove the bumper to take off the top plastic grill?

No you don't have to. It can slide out after undoing the top plastic anchors.
