Interior: How To: Paint your dash
search the how to's. and you use a screw driver on the clips and pull like hell. blue man group haha
mines turning out nice. How do i get the door things off? i have electric windows and mirrors, so i'm guessing there is a lot of wireing on them. I don't even know what they are called to search for them.
In the bottom of each plastic piece there is a flap you need to pull up with a small flat blade screw driver then there are 2 phillips heads #2 I believe then then pull up and back same time, then just some quick disconnects and some plastic clips, sanding, and pretty pretty.
This Why You Shouldn't Paint The E-brake Handle
I painted the E-Brake handle to match the rst of my car and now i know why i shouldn't have, but oh well i'll try something else now...

I didn't want to sand it since it is like rubber/plastic, and the roughness of a scotch bright pad would leave deep scoures in the part. Also the primer came up with the paint. I have an adhesion promoter, which if for pieces that flex. Not only does the e-brake lever flex, but there is a few spots that it rubs in the console, resulting in scratches that makes the paint chip away. I think what i'm going to do is use the paint that i painted my doors and everyhing else with and ty to mak it the gloss black to match the rest of the pieces that i painted.
Looks like I'll be trying this soon but i would use steel wool instead of sandpaper. Since you're working with finished plastic pieces it works better IMO. Used steel wool when i painted my headlights and it was flawless.
Steel wool FTW! I love that stuff it does work perfectly on the lights. I would try it on the e-brake also...
Sand paper is your best choice, becasue you can choose the grit, and it sands evenly. I use a high grit sand paper, to just rough up the surface. The steel wool will work, but you have to be more careful as to how hard and where your using it. When i re do the e-brake piece, i'll be using the adhesion promoter/flex primer, so when the piece flexes and bends it will not crack
haha, once I get those parts off the inside, I have some plans I wanna run by you.
I have a LaserBlue exterior, I'm thinking make a nice brushed-gunmetal interior. But the real kicker is the fact that I can airbrush, and wanna make some killer stripes along the long passenger side.
Gonna look okay? I was wondering what accent color I wanted allover the car, because nothing goes with blue!

you have to take them off in order, start with the peice above th glove box, then get the peice on the other side of the stereo, by the steering wheel, and the the one on the other side of oif the wheel, then get the one around the stereo. To get them off i used a snall screw driver and used it kind of as a prybar, but if you can get a hold of it you can pullit off with you hands, some where here is a how to about taking off the trim
