told you it would work, yeah i wanted to do this when i forst got the car, but i posted on here when i first joined CSS and got flammed for it, so, i guess now, I WAS RIGHT!!!, lol, but yeah, i was bored, had some time on my hand, and thought to myself, the part number s the same on the 2.4 and the 2.2 w/sport pakage, why shouldnt the cluster work on mine, so i though it soem more, and some more, thinking and thining, ti'll i got a headache and desided instead of thinking about it, to just buy the dam thing and plug it in

this mod doesnt require you to open the cluster, it is a complete swap, not just a change of face, if you have a blackcat face, you can leave it in, and just get a new cluster, plug it up, and ur set, what you do with the old cluster is up 2 you, i have mine sitting in my closet

what tires came with it from the factory, have u tuned it at all, do yu have aftermarket rims, that are diffrent from stock size? any of those could affect it, most ls have it to cut at 105 cuz they came with the cheapo continental tires<<--speed rating is low

My 2.2 G5 came with the 140 mph cluster

I've had my G5 up to 130ish just fine. No tunes or anything. Mine came with Hancock tires though.

I think the base G5 is the equivalent of the LT2 right? Because I have power everything, cruise, the spoiler, the bumper with the black inserts, and 17 inch wheels (steelies with covers)

yeah the g5 came with more standard things than the cobalt, hence the higher price tag, and dont the g5's only have 2 trms levels, the base and the gt, so that may be why

It would be great if someone who has done this cluster swap got on a calibrated dyno, or a rolling road, to verify that the speedo is accurate.
