Uhhhm, I would have to disagree. If you switch the ground, there's the potential that when you switch it off, your finger on the switch could become the ground, and that hurts, trust me.

Switching. By code, convention, and good reasons, only hot wires are supposed to be switched, never neutrals or grounds.

why the hell would you switch the ground?

You would put it in the positive to break the positive current... ground you still have the positive current running through everything. denlou is 100% right on this lol.

Anyone know what gauge wire our stock wires on the harness are? I'm planning to use quick connects and they have them for different gauges of wire - I want to get the right one.

My halos came with 22 AWG, and the wiring on the car doesn't seem to say, but it looks to be the same.

What I would like to know, is would it matter if I used 14 AWG instead? I can see how a thicker wire would cause more attenuation/resistance, but it's what I have on hand already and the inline fuses I got (just to play it safe) are also 14 AWG.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah that'll be just fine, wouldn't really get to worried about resistance over a span of 3FT (tops), it's when you start getting into the double digit feet that it starts to be an issue.

Thanks. I just needed a little reassurance since I'm not too electrically inclined.

Nice

i think i did bad wiring cause at first only the halos light then i switch the wiring and now only the bulbs turn on then i re did it and nothing would power on? i noticed my rear lights went out also in the process and the cluster doesnt light up too, i juss gave up and put my stockers back in and those light up fine, anyone know what i possibly did wrong? i did exactly like it read except i cut the wires... pleasseee helllp!

Without pictures it's kinda hard to pin point the problem.

the 3rd gen projectors come with two sets of wires. white and black for the LEDs and a set of red and black for each of the halos. i suppose i can wire them all together into the harness? anyone deal with the wiring of the 3rd gens?

edit**

wired up today. everything looks great. anyone run into some light escaping through the top of the lens, right along the hood line?
