I've noticed the same thing - so I will like seafoam my car on a Friday evening, then on Saturday morning I'll take both the plugs and O2 censor and clean them off, reinstall and your good to go.

The sensor/plug thing is a little bit of a surprise - according to the seafoam info, the stuff is supposed to actually help CLEAN the sensors, and I'd think the plugs as well. So much for a simple application!

I would think If you are warried about the A/F sensor (o2 sensor) you could pull out the A/F sensor while doing the seafoam treatment. The car will run with A/F sensor hanging, It will set the MIL but no big deal, just put it back in when you do the driving blow out part, but at idle i think it would be fine to run the seafoam with the A/F sensor out.

Thanks for the Idea . I've seafoamed my car 6 times already ( 31K miles on her) so this set of o2's are either beyond hope (or if seafoam actually cleans them ) ... they might be fairly clean hehe

I haven't had any issues with them this far so I'll just keep my eye on AFR's and trims like i normally do and go from there . Thanks for the heads up thou

I used the brake booster line on my HHR (pain in the ass). I add Seafoam to my gas every other oil change and run it through the intake right before I change the plugs, I think doing it to often would foul the plugs early IMO.

I just seafoamed my LSJ and I didn't get any smoke at all at idle after having it sit for 10 mins. I did get a bit of smoke from 2nd gear pulls right after, but the smoke is grey-ish/bluish rather than white. Is it normal?

yep....normal. It will always smoke worse when you get on it . Where did you introduce the seafoam ? I used to use the little vacuum line under the black plastic fuel rail cover. Mine SS/SC would smoke pretty good as soon as i started it and created a fog when holding the rpm at 2500 or so .

Not sure ..... how much are you using? I would use half a bottle or so . It would take me maybe a minute or so to get it in there with my SS/SC ....I put it in fast enough to make the engine idle down and run a little rough but never too fast and stall it . As soon as i got it in I would shut it off as fast as i could and let it sit for 15 mins at least .

i used about 1/3 and it took me maybe 10 - 15 mins to get them in

I'm too afraid that i might stall it, I was doing it by myself tho so no one to hold the rev up

That's' prolly why it didn't smoke 8) . I do mine by myself with an extra piece of vacuum hose and let the hose suck it right out of the bottle . The more you get in ...in the shorter amount of time...the more it allows it to soak the intake valves with more of the seafoam . Otherwise it will burn it off as your adding it if you take too long .

You will get the hang of it after a few tries ....I know the first time i was nervous and did basically the same thing . Believe it or not the motor can ingest the seafoam fairly quick ..... I do it fast enough to draw the motor down and it will run a little rough while your doing it.

When i start mine up after letting it sit it smokes terrible lol.... I've seen smoke rings from the exhaust lol. I even call my neighbors and let them know so they can close their windows hehe.

I'm not sure why people are worried if you stall your vehicle out with seafoam. As Rukkee said before the cars going to run rough, almost to the point of stalling. If it stalls, then just let it sit for 10mins, come back, start it up and watch the show.

Changing the oil is still the best suggestion out of anything to do afterward. With the blow by from the pistons and the seafoam mixing with the oil, ends up contaminating the oil itself.

Just ran Seafoam through my 02 Tacoma - oil and gas. Didn't need to do decarbon the chambers - I'll do that by pulling some water through and wailing on it!

Seriously, though, I ran about 50-60 miles after adding a bit more than half a can, and that oil has never come out that opaque! I threw the rest into a 1/4 tank of gas, and the results were sweet. This truck now idles steady, like it did when it was new, and there's no hesitation between shifts.

I know its no 'balt testimony, just a related seafoam story....

Any word on the video How-To? Just bought Seafoam yesterday, but I'm waiting for my AC Delco plugs to come in the mail.

this is a nice Hot-To, subscribing. I dont know how to seafoam but im going to give it a try when my next oil change comes up. Is it okay to shut the car off after sucking the seafoam in through a vac line though? I read that someone had trouble getting their car started again... Plugs got wet.

You're supposed to shut it off after sucking the SeaFoam in. Gotta let it sit. If its fouling plugs that badly, then someone over did it or the plugs were already on their way out.

I did mine just before having the oil changed. Sucked ~1/2 bottle through the top vacuum port with a spare piece of hose and then poured ~7.5 oz into the oil. Had the oil changed after about 40 miles. I didn't change my plugs but I plan to on the next one b/c I don't think the previous owner changed them ever.

Seafoamed my TC yesterday. Not a problem through the manifold Vacum port. 1/4" inside diameter hose fits perfect. Used 170 ml - about 1/3 of a can. Lots of vacum through that port so it did not take very long to empty my measuring cup (about 4 dips of the hose). I let it sit for 20 minutes then started it up. Not a lot of smoke but then again I only have 14,000 Kms on the car. Then I drove the **** out her for about 10 minutes.

Getting my oil changed today after work.

okay, so I stop by my local autozone or pepboys and pick up a can of this stuff, pour a third of it in the gas tank, 1/3 of it in the oil, and use the vacuum line on top of the intake manifold just north of the EVAP purge valve and TMAP?. I can pick up a 1/4" tube to fit there for the "straw" lol. After the stuff is fully ingested into the engine, shut the car off? wait 10 mins and start her back up? thats it correct?

Change the oil 30 miles later? seems like this isnt too difficult. Changing plugs is also recommended. Where do people buy their plugs from?

im not I was thinking of ordering from gmpartsdirect.com or crateenginedepot.com.

I wasnt sure if I could find them cheaper in store minus the shipping cost.

CED sells them for like $6.87 a plug.
