JBP Vortex Header MEGA Sale!
i was meaning to say it sarcastically, like bein a ******* with the answer. the whole point of this header is for equal length so thats what relates between both cars so i said something that didnt... idk, i got it lol
lol the only gains would be from the primarys being a little larger... but you could get better gains out of a long tube header and a dp.... end of story. this is also alot more than a normal header dp combo u can get ... even though its an amazing sounding header ( i love the sound).
Unless for some reason you are absolutely forced to run a stock fitment downpipe, and you absolutely can not have a short tube header i see no reason to use this save for the sound. Its relatively expensive, its relatively difficult to install, and based on the sound it makes its obviously not a very equal flowing header, it may be equal length in the strictest sense of the word but the dramatically different contours and number of bends in each primary handicaps any benefit them being equal lengths would offer.
I may be wrong, but i dont believe that JBP has ever refuted the fact that this headers unique sound is due to its uneven flow from cylinder to cylinder.

well i am selling mine! i was never installed on a car, just been sitting around in my room since the group buy! i bought a different exhaust system! i was gonna go with the full jbp exhaust system but its too expensive and not the right set up for the mods i am going to run, i am willing to sell it for the group buy price + shipping if anybody is interested!
Get a LSJ downpipe and a good cat-back exhaust, and keep your stock exhaust manifold. You'll probably see more power that way, rather than the Jbp header with stock exhaust. In any event, you would need a larger capacity downpipe and cat back to take advantage of any power increase that the jbp header has to offer, otherwise you are spending bucks for sound only. You could look at alternative downpipes but, keep in mind that the 2.4 is finicky with aftermarket downpipes. If you go that route, you may find that you'll get (a series of) cels that can only be permanently cancelled by using HPTuners, or similar tuning software.
I suggest you do some serious searching on these forums for exhaust info before spending your money on a (jbp or other) header. There are all sorts of countering opinons. Take your pick.
mine is for sale, never been used or installed, comes with all gaskets, and hardware! will sell for the sale price+ shipping, let me know if you are interested! its just been sitting here in my room for like a year now!
I believe this header has 1.75" primaries which current wisdom suggests is overkill for a 2.4, and may in fact be detrimental. (This opens up a huge can of worms regarding back pressure. See my closing statement.)

If you wanna know how the header does in comparison to the stock one, take a look at my header comparison thread in two weeks. I'm swapping from the stock header on sunday to the jbp, gathering notes and then doing the dyno on the same tune as the one set for the stock header. that way, I (and you) will know if it's a restriction of flow or not.
