Why not race at Newton? Its probably the cheapest track around and is brand new.. Its in a lot better shape then newton.. but its like the street, they dont treat it like eddyville does. If you have a highly modded car you probably wont get any traction. I run a decent time out there for being a novice driver

I think Newton is a 1/8 mile track, 20 bucks to race 10 to spectate. Their first drag race is May 3.

During the test and tunes anybody can run if they pass tech. If you keep your car in good working order and there are no leaks or drips you should pass no problem.

If you go when there is no test and tune they have a trophy class and a sportsmans class you can enter. Bracket racing at its finest. I'll get about a 2 sec head start on most cars. My first time out I got second place.

There's one guy I know that might be able to make it. April 18th and 25th are the first test and tunes for eddyville.

If I don't run there I'll be going to Tri-state in Earlville anyway..

Earlville is just 45 min from the house which is why I go there. Probably about 3 hours or so from Des Moines.

Eddyville or Cedar Falls would be a better halfway point. I go about once or twice a month to drag race the car anyway. I've been to Cedar Falls but never to Eddyville. It'd give me a reason to check out the track.

I need to tune the car anyway so I'm not too particular on which track I'll go to. Either way I'll be out a test and tune one of those weekends.

LOL........... I could give it a try as long as your not expecting any fairy dust or insane power, I'm no Area or Pysko.

What exactly is the car doing? Do you have a wideband installed on your car?

I just want it to run smoother, it lags out during races usually in mid third- when you gun it from 2nd sometimes theres like a "jump" i wanna call it. where the supercharger doesnt kick in right when u floor it but like a half a second later then it unexpected and just glues you to the seat. but yeah if we go to the track it would be awesome if you could take a look at it for me, what were you running in the 1/8th i havent taken this car yet, i just got it in november.

edit- no wide band

Your at maximum RPMs in second gear and when you shift to 3rd there is a half sec lull then whoosh your back in the race? I'm was getting the same thing just before winter hit.

I cleaned and oiled the throttle body and it helped a little but I still had about a millisecond lag. Some people on HPTuners site gave me some ideas for me to try when the weather gets warmer. If it works I'll let you know. If you can get a wideband for your car we can get the AFRs all nice and neat and see what els you'd like to have done.

how much could i get a wideband for? you got any good links?

no not max rpms in second- when im doing a roll race from 35-40 when i first step on it there is a lag and then sometimes in mid third itll just lag out and kick back in- not often but when it does its annoying!

Dude one night when i was running the balt down there some kid dragged an early 90s integra down there.. the thing could barely start.. had one stud missing off of the front passenger side wheel hub! It missed on at least one cylinder.. more than that at times..

and he passed tech.. I threw a fit trying to get him kicked off but they still let him run

This is at eddyville

This was where I bought mine. I think they're all kinda pricey but I found the best deal here on a closeout sale last year. Probably not availiable anymore.

http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/

While having your own wideband helps I have the exhaust clamp w/ wideband. Not as accurate but it will still do the job. Its what I used to tune my truck.

I've never had that problem yet so I can't be sure what the cause may be. I guess it wouldn't hurt to get a log of it and see what the data sez. Maybe it'll show me something to tune out or in. Still kinda sounds like a throttle body response, maybe dirty injectors or spark plugs need changing.

If anybody els is reading this maybe they can give their .02.

every SC balt has a bypass valve.. It is the funky wastegate looking thing on the supercharger. That is the actuater and the valve itself is underneith it and connected to the intake manifold
