Cedar Rapids
08 Cobalt 2.2 Sedan
I know that I've raced a few of other cobalts in the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area...
Though they all lost so they might not wanna speak up lol!
It seems like most of the Cobalts in my area are driven by old ladies...kinda depressing.
Anyone know of any good shops in our area that do custom work?
ie. body kits, painting, fiberglass work...I'd love to get some work done but don't know of any that do good work.

"No I just played with em a little, accelerated to 80 then let em pass....."
That wasn't y'all by any chance? j/p
Don't know of any shops around doing custom body works, then again I don't really look for that stuff. Try asking on StreetPsi dot net. I hear they're a local forum.
I just tuned my truck, wonder how it'll do against a 2.2 sedan? If your ever drivin' North on 151..........

LOL, my old lady said there were some kids in a cobalt trying to race her. I asked "did ya downshift and leave them behind?"

I don't go north too often.
I commute between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.

Going to be having a little meet on this side of Iowa (western)...
Where - Lewis and Clark State Park (Blue Lake), just outside of Onawa, IA. (zip is 51040)
When - Saturday, September 27th at 3:00 PM
We will be grilling out so if you would like to eat, please pitch in something. There is a grocery store in Onawa so if you don't want to drag food along with you, going there is definitely a possibility. Nothing too much, pound of hamburger, bag of chips, anything is fine.
If anyone needs a place to stay over night, you are more then welcome to sleep at my house. I don't think a whole lot of people are going to come, but there very well could be. I only have one couch and the house is small so not a WHOLE lot of room but plenty of floor space! LOL bring your own blankets and pillows if you want, I dont have anything extra. However if you want to stay at a motel there are two decent ones in the town next to mine, which is 7 miles away. Fairly cheap to, I believe it's only like $40 a night. I can get more information on them if needed.
The lake area is a very nice location with plenty of places to park and gather, as well as having tons of nice locations for pictures. It is Roughly 55 miles from Omaha, NE and around 40 miles from Sioux City, IA and is RIGHT off of Interstate-29 so finding it will be very easily done. I am originally from Onawa so I know my way around the entire area and believe me, it's easy.
This is not a j-body exclusive meet, but more aimed at GM sport compact type cars. anything is welcome though.
please visit http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.ph...=52227&t=52227 for an ongoing thread about the meet.
Any questions feel free to PM me here or e-mail me at basshead_69@hotmail.com

well if any of you can make it that'd be awesome. i completely understand about the distance issue, i dont like driving my car further then like 100 miles usually. but.. for reference, the lake is very close the Missouri river, which is what separates Iowa and Nebraska.
if you are for sure you can and are going please let me know and i will add your name to the list.
thanks!

If there is going to be a half way decent turn out I will head out that way. I am near davenport, no clue how long the drive is but it can't be nearly as bad as driving clear out to ohio for a tune lol.

hey now, there's nothing wrong with driving 6 hours east for a tune HAHAHA a friend and i did it and it was a blast.
anyways, we have 11 for sure's so far and 9 not sure's and 2 say they will if work lets them.
