nah.. SC's for the Celica are not that great... sounds good. but power is lacking. $ for $ the turbo was the logical choice.

I hope they treat your motor better than some other people have experienced. They don't seem to have the ability to deal with domestic motors.

Ah, but I found an exception to tint laws that applies to the SS/SC's and the SS/TC's. I want the ticket so that I can challenge it and see it works. Once there is a precident set it blows the whole thing wide open because police cannot tell the difference between different modeled cars such as a LE5 SS sedan versus LNF SS Sedan. I will attempt to prove that the SS/SC is considered a vehicle built for occassional off-road use using the Grand Am Series rules. There is a page that lists specific vehicles. PLus, I have had a lot discussions with the Sergeant that oversees vehicle inspections in VA. He shared this with me:

"However, 46.2-1052 of the Code of Virginia does not prohibit applying to the rear side windows or rear window of any multipurpose passenger vehicle or pickup truck sun-shading or tinting films that reduce the total light transmittance of such window or windows below 35 percent. A multipurpose passenger vehicle would be considered as any motor vehicle that is (i) designed to carry no more than 10 persons and (ii) constructed either on a truck chassis or with special features for occasional off-road use."

SS/SC's and SS/TC's apply under this law because it (i) designed to carry no more than 10 persons and (ii) constructed either on a truck chassis or with special features for occasional off-road use.

A race track is considered "off-road," and the SS/SC's and SS/TC's were built for participation in the Grand Am Series. I've also got proof that I race the 'balt at the track often. I think I've got this in the bag.

Also, VA vehicle inspections no longer look at window tint. This is left to the police to write citations for. This means the door is already open. Somebody just needs to walk through it. I'm gonna do that as soon as I get out there. I think it's stupid that SUV's can have darker tint, but cars cannot. I also just found out that I've got a friend from high school in Alexandria who is in support of this being changed as well. Along with an aunt-in-law that used to be a police officer for Newport News, I've got a game plan.

it blew up before i got the turbo on it. number 4 cyl rod bearing failed and cause the rod to cease up on the crank and get thrown through the front of the block. but there were other contributing factors such as leaving the car with someone i thought was a friend, never changed the oil and put 6k miles on the car while was on deployment.

i recomend no one leave their car with anyone except family members. ESPECIALLY DANEW

I see what you are saying, and I really didn't have much of a choice because of the timing. It was going to be with someone in the area that had a place to store it. There's too many people waiting to see what happens with mine, and I don't think that he wants to be responsible for anything going bad with mine..., he'd rather take credit for it working right.
