2.2 rebuild advice needed!!!

Alright so, I know little about building/rebuilding an engine but I'm picking up on some stuff. From my understanding if I replace the rods and pistons and put some cams in it, it will be a much stronger engine. I'm planning about pushing 400hp also its going to be turbo. Is there anything else I should upgrade in the engine besides what I listed?? If so which parts? And also how do I know how much compression should I wind up with or shoot for?? Any and all advice is appreciated!!

Stock 10:1 comp is fine. Pistons and rods will get you to 400, you dont need cams. Probably a good idea to do valvesprings and a balance shaft delete. Along with a new timing set. Maybe a water pump if you have a lot of miles. If you plan on spending a lot of time on the limiter or 2 stepping, hardened oil pump is a good idea.

Upgraded rods and pistons will get me to 400? Or stock? And if upgraded which ones are good for the car?

Upgraded ones will be able to support well over 400. Stock is only good to 250. If you want to go more than 500 its a good idea to do sleeves.

If you look on ebay theres a kit that has eagle rods and weisco pistons together for $780.

This might sound dumb, but what do you mean by sleeves

Its an aluminum block with cast iron sleeves. The stock sleeves can crack in the upper areas where theyre not supported.

Balance shafts just add weight to the rotating assembly. Gm says they take ~10hp to spin. Theyre meant to cut down on noise, vibration, and harshness but if you have a modded car you probably dont mind. They also say that 7500 is the highest you should safely rev with stock shafts.

Valve springs also help you rev higher by reducing valve float at high rpm. Theyre also good for boost because the pressure can keep the valves from closing all the way.

Then the balance shaft delete makes sense but that sounds like I would need the valve springs
