Correct. Stick with the LSJ FE5 parts and you'll be fine.

Ok.

Here are my thoughts.

Get some track driving experience. Make sure this is truly something you will enjoy before you start dumping money into a track car build. Find and drive in some track days. You can leave the car stock, just make sure the brakes are new and good, and change the brake fluid to DOT 4. This will let you really see where the car needs improvement.

Then you can really see what the car needs, and then research and see what class that will put you in. Go from there.

Because tinker is very different than building a car for w2w racing. The cost of the donor car becomes a small part of the whole build. I agree with Whitnith, use the balt to get some laps in, even get your license, then you'll have a better idea about what you really want to do.

You really should do your hpde before you even consider building a car. you don't need to be extremely fast. you need to demonstrate you can handle the mental and physical pressure of driving on a closed course. W2w is very different from time attack and under most circumstances you need to be licensed under time attack before wheel 2 wheel.

Building a competitive wheel 2 wheel car is expensive. Also what is your budget like? You need to account for every event putting brakes, fluids, tires etc etc into the car. a set of Hoosiers is over a grand depending on the size and they are toast after a weekend of driving.

Do you understand suspension dynamics? Push, pull, oversteer, understeer, bump steer and all of that? If you don't you better start reading. Those are things that are extremely important to prevent accidents and set your car up so you can A. Compete, B. Don't crash.

What's your physical/mental capabilities? You need to be able to make split second decisions, drive the car under a lot of different stress points and situations and you need to be able to drive with a clear focus.

I'm just babbling here but in all seriousness I love seeing guys and gals get into track racing but coming on here without even*a single track day or autocross and saying I want to build a 50k prepped wheel to wheel car isn't even logical. You need to start at the bottom like us and work your way to the top.

Sorry if I sound harsh as it's not my intent but as a fellow racer just like Whitney our job is to educate you so you don't hurt yourself, someone else, drain your bank account for something you haven't tried yet.
