Hello everybody, I have been viewing this site for the last three months and I just joined today. I have found tons of information here about cobalts but I am not car savvy at all!!! Everyone here seems to be very knowledgeable and boy do I need the help
Well my car started sputtering and losing power almost 3 months ago. Got codes p0171 p0113 and p0102. Cleaned maf , new acdelco sparks, new upstream and downstream o2 sensors, seafoamed the car, etc and it turned out to be the fuel pump. Two days after getting the car back from the mechanic the cel comes back on and I get code p0301 misfire cylinder 1. Couldn't afford to put it back in the shop so i had no choice and continied

Ok, go with the advice given above. Swap the coils from 1 to 2. See if the misfire moves from 1 to 2. If not then swap plugs. See what that does.
And also, as you're in a State that I think was part of the recall you'll want to call the dealer and look into reimbursement for the fuel pump.

What part of Missouri are you in? I'm in Springfield.
First things first.
Swap the coil from cylinder one to cylinder 2.
Very easy to do. Just unplug the electrical connector from the 2 coil plugs. Then use a 10mm socket to unbolt the coil plugs. Then just pull up and move them.
If the CEL comes on for the second cylinder after moving then the coil plug is bad. I believe someone on her just replaced the boot not the whole plug and it was super cheap.
