New Guy from Washington State
New Guy from Washington State
Hey all,
My name is Kyle. I have been a Cobalt owner since 2007 when I bought a new 07 SS 2.4L. I babied that car until two weeks ago when I traded it in for a 2010 Sport Red Tintcoat SS. Man this thing is on another level compared to the 2.4L.
I am from Everett, Washington and am a University student up near the Canadian border in Bellingham. I have YET to see a 2008-10 SS anywhere here other than mine. Plenty of 2005-07 SS's and plenty of base models.
Anyway, I've been lurking here for a few years and finally decided to make an account and participate. I like to keep my car stock or with factory upgrade parts (last car had the GMP intake, etc). It looks like there is not much in the way of factory upgrades for these models.
First mod I would like to accomplish is the Powell PCV oil separator unit which after reading a LOT of threads seems like a good idea to prevent coking. I just need to figure out if it voids any warranties. The car is now getting new rear brakes from the dealer under warranty (even though I ordered new performance rotors/HPS pads).
Other than my Cobalt I am currently in the process of restoring my Dad and I's 1969 GTO Judge. That is proving to be quite the project.
Thanks guys.

There used to be a 09 yellow sedan in Everett but he got out of the Navy a year ago now, and moved. There are still a lot of Cobalts floating around up that way though I'm thinking that most of them are more south, toward the Joint Base. Welcome to the site.
Welcome
I'm down in Vancouver, America. You won't see many SS Turbos, I have seen two around in the last 6 months.
Good choice to go with the Powell PCV. I have one and love it. Clean IC/valves/motor FTW!

I've seen a yellow sedan SS and a coupe for sale as well as a couple black coupes. I guess the sedan is one of the super rare ones but hey, yellow just isn't my color.
Welcome! We lost 2 of the SS/TC owners last year when they both moved out of state, myself and Andy are still around though. Seen a few SS/SC cars around Federal Way. We'll need to setup a cruise or something soon.
