Im typically not a huge fan of chrome lips on wheels either... but in person this thing looks great.... i love it.

As far as height... i mayyyyyy go lower. Its a DD that i drive over 50miles a day in... so function/comfort are more important to me than looking cool.

Before people started replacing them, the old solution was to smack the pump with a mallet. If you're not going to replace it now, I'd suggest at least getting something to monitor your intake temps so you'll be able to see if / when it's working.

Couple updates.... i got my new headlights in and installed..... and i also got the wiring crap figured out for the passanger front low beam.... which ended up just being a fuse. Never seen a car that had 4 different fuses just for the headlights LOL!

Headlights installed....

What would you recommend for a decent power gain... without breaking my pocket then?

I dont want it to be something that isnt good for daily driving.... but i kind of would enjoy a little more power... and better gas mileage if possible... currently not getting great mileage.... and ive been driving rather conservative.

In stock form these cars get great gas mileage.... Check your MAF, air filter, plugs, fuel filter, and clean your throttle body.

You can gain a little more power with some exhaust modifications (higher flowing exhaust manifold/header, downpipe, & catback). These mods won't break the bank either.

If you want a stage kit, I recommend putting one together yourself & get a tune. You will save lots of money this way.

Keep an eye on the classifieds section. People sell good used parts on a daily basis.

Thanks for the info sir~

I need to change the fuel filter for sure.... its got 90k on it... as im sure it was never changed before. I need to do plugs too while im at it.... and need to check out the air filter.... has a K&N CAI.... so i have never even seen the filter since ive had the car..... so maybe ill check that and clean the MAF while im down there.

As far as up freeing up HP by doing exhaust mods.... i wouldnt be opposed to doing something there.... i just cant go catless... and dont want the car to be ignorantly loud and obnoxious.

No problem.

A clogged fuel filter alone will kill your gas mileage. Def get that changed asap.

As per the manual, you should change them every 30k or so.

Agreed~ I was actually surprised that these cars even had a serviceable FF..... as most GM's are in the tank as a part of the fuel pump. I would also need to buy the quick connect tools to get the filter off.... but yes i woud definitely like to do that soon.

Make sure to pick up a metal quick disconnect tool. It will save you a lot of hassle.

The plastic ones are crap.

First time I did the fuel filter on my car, I had the plastic tools.

I was going nuts trying to get them to actually disconnect the filter.

Gave up, and picked up a metal one. Had the filter off in 2 mins, lol.

Alrighty guys, i installed my new IC pump last night.... andi will say... IT SUCKED.

I dont think it would have been quite as bad if i had more room to work.... but my decent jack broke... so i used a stock car jack and jack stands... tires not even off the ground. ugh. Needless to say... the install took a while.... and it sucked ass. The glued on hoses and clamps were the absolute worst. Then while fumbling around up there trying to get the clamps off.... i ended up getting a little chunk of metal in my eye.... and it took like 35 minutes to finally wash it out with eye drops.... then after getting back under there and finally getting the first hose off.... i took quite the coolant bath LOL. After the old pump was off... the install of the new one was rather easy.

ANYWAYS. End result.... the new pump is in.... it works.... car seems to run smoother and accelerate much smoother.
