Not sure why you think you need AWD...FWD cars with winter tires do great in the snow.
Either of those cars will be risky as DD, the chances you'll get one that hasn't been abused for years is pretty slim.
Also, when the R32 needs repairs be ready to hand over a few bags of cash.

sti - meh they are ok
why are you selling the sc though?
Why remove the wing? - To keep your car low profile while its parked at school.
VW cars have bad reliability and are expensive to fix (German parts).
Id say keep your car...remove the wing, pick up some nice 16" wheels and some aggressive winter tires you'll be golden.

i need an upgrade
vw's are unreliable and expensive to fix. They used to be good...they havent for over 10 years now. My roommates just bought a 08 rabbit with like 32k now it has 40k and 1st gear slips like a sob. and there is some squeak and clicking that they cant find or fix...how annoying for a almost new car.
My friend with the R32 had some trans module break, luckily he was under 36k miles as this part has to be made in germany for his VIN and the part was like $3k, labor was $2k. And that took 3 months to arrive. f that **** no matter how good the vr6 sounds.
Snow tires on my vibe and ms3 were fantastic and way cheaper than a new awd car.

I wholeheartedly agree with the snow tire statement...I have a lowly LS, but I bought a set of aftermarket 15" steelies with 195/60 Hankook winter ipike's that were phenomenal....this was their 3rd season (and I think their last) because I ran them too long into spring last year. I really want to get a set of Blizzak's this time around because I always hear so much about them. I have never had a problem in winter with the winter tires.
I think you should just hold on to your car and do what was recommended about the wing and what not as well. If you still really want something AWD, consider a Legacy GT...great cars and people don't **** them up nearly as much as STi's and WRX's.

I think subies are a little over hyped. If you do look into one, do LOTS of research there are very big issues with certain years, like head gasket or some other engine issue like in 07 or something. I would probably go evo over a subie because they are more solid. problem is any car with FI stock will most likely be beaten the **** out of..

I just ordered the slotted rear rotors for my Balt along with some ceramic pads. I'm getting the ceremic pads being delivered to me on thursday but the rotors won't be here until next week.
Can't wait until they arrive.

You said it! I was playing MGS4 story mode again this weekend.
You do it first and then I'll consider it.
