I talked to the tint dude tonight and this is what i got: Price will be about 180 per coupe and about 203 per sedan. If you want a brow across the front windshield it will be about 15 extra. He can do 2-3 per day, during the weekdays. He would be done with 2 of them around 5 with the 3rd being done no later than 7pm that day. I forgot to ask him about weekends but i can call him back. He didnt make mention of weekend work so i dont think he works on weekends. He does all rear windows in 1 piece. Only in special circumstances does he have to do it in more than one piece. He can tint the dot matrix but recommends a piece of black vinyl. The tint is a hybrid metallic/dye mix. It is guaranteed to never turn purple. It is warrantied and guaranteed to never bubble, crack ect... For door windows he tints an inch below rubber strip on inside of door to prevent peeling and he tints to the furthest edges of the window width wise. He leaves anywhere from a 32nd to a 16th of an inch of glass untinted at the top edge of the door windows.

He is more expensive. But i can speak from first hand experience from having my past car tinted by him - it is perfect. It is worth every penny IMO. 1 other friend of mine that got his windows tinted by him bitched about the cost until he saw the job he did and then ended up tipping him and his crew. Its that good. Let me know. He is booked for the next 2 weeks straight. So there is some time....

Sport Red Dave....did i see you on 30 by Sonoco coming toward GRBG tonight around 8:15?

Yes, sir. That was I...Hey let me know when you decide to get the tint done. I'm definitely down for goin' there. A buddy of mine got his car done at Terry's a few years back and they do excellent work. That's actually where I wanted to got in the first place. They've always been a bit pricey but it's worth the $. I'd like to go cruisin' 2nite but if nobody's up for it, there's always tomorrow. I have a full detail on the agenda for sometime tomorrow, but after that I'm free to do whatever. Hopefully women!!!LOL!!!

Cool. Post your # cause I don't have it. I'll give you a buzz when something solid comes up. We should all meet up about 830 instead of this 11 or 12 **** all the time. Jester can't be out till after 11, but I'm sure we'll still be out when he's off work. It's gonna be 67 and sunny tomorrow, but cold in the evening. Hellz yeah!!!

New post. We're goin' to some kind of club 2moro nite. For those who aren't 21, or if you're married, sorry. If anyone has any ideas, drop us a hint. As of now, it's lookin' like Matrix. It actually doesn't matter where we go, as long as we're not standing in a parking lot for 4 hrs.

First off... I'm in for whatever tomorrow at whatever time. Just keep me posted on what, where, and when.

Second, I'm in for tint, but I have a question... does he need the car all day for that? That seems kinda long. I know there's a shop in Monroeville that quoted me like an hour to two hours. They came highly recommended from a lot of people around the area too. They were about the same price... probably a little cheaper.

Well there are a couple of people around my place that have had there cars done - an Evo and a WRX - and they look great. I know I asked the Evo guy how much his cost and it was like $135 so I will try to find out where he had it done, what kind of film it is, and then maybe give them a call to see if I can get a group rate as well.

Brian, are you up on mount washington ever when you are in pittsburgh? I've seen a black ss parked on virginia avenue a few times, including st. patty's day. wondering if it was yours.

Just to throw it out there... Smail Auto Glass does tinting and from what I saw when I worked there, they did good work. I had asked about getting mine done and I think the cost was $180-ish for my 2-door. Metallic film, and they also recommended black vinyl on the dot-matrix. Not sure of thier schedules/availability, just thought I'd throw some info into the mix.

Yes he needs the car all day. I know who you are talking about in Monroeville. I think its called Solar Control or something like that. I personally wouldnt go to him but to each their own. If im going to pay top dollar, i know i can trust john and his work.

Yeah but I can't give him my car all day on a weekday. I don't have alternate transportation for work and I can't take off just for getting tint.

He didnt mention weekend work. But i will add that to the list of questions to ask him next time i talk to him. If Terrys Auto Glass is open on saturdays, maybe i can coax him into doing this on a saturday or 2. I know he is bound to the working hours of Terrys since he rents their garage space.... Ill find out for you.

Yeah... if he can do this on any weekend day or even 5pm or later, I'm in. Otherwise, I just can't work that into my schedule.

If we all don't try to go on the same day it should work. Go in teams, but only one guy get the tint done that day. If you can get a day off during the week, I'll pick you up there so you have some sort of transportation. I agree, Terry's does cost a bit more. But, they take their time and it's worth it. Quality work. lf anything happens to the tint, they rip it out and do the whole job again for free. I can't recall anyone ever having a bad experience w/ Terry's, though. I'm in no hurry to get mine done. Plus, I make my own schedule at work and I can go pretty much whenever.

funny..... I USED to always be on Va ave. I have alot of family ( erxtended ) there. Mom's funeral was there.
The flower Shop.. wallace flowers... is family of mine. i used to work there summers.

But no.... that wasn't me. St. Patty's night, my car was parked over in Baden ( up 65 past Ambridge ).

If you see a black SS up around Crafton Easter weekend... that' will probably be me.
Look for the K&N sticker on the Driver's door 3/4 window, and "racePA" stickers on both 3/4 windows.

SHOULD have my new wheels and tires on by then

Dan, give me a call when you get off work. My son is getting picked up at 8, so I'm free at 815. "IF"we're planning on goin' to Pittsburgh, we should pre-game somewhere around here first. Beer is too expensive at the clubs.
