It was just a one-time thing for people doing One Lap of America. Anyone could go, but the schools are mandatory for OLOA participants. Here's BR's little thing about it http://www.beaverun.com/beaverunwire_One_Lap_Dinner.htm . It was normal format for BR, you always have an instructor the first 2-3 lap days, then after that it's instructor optional.

I used the Neros. They did awesome, WAY better than the Rossos did when I took them out, not NEARLY as much problems with overheating the tires. They gripped both cold and hot, which was nice. With the Rossos when they get hot, they don't grip for ****.

WOW...

I expected the R-comps to be used, but also, with everyone thinking of "one lap" I'd expect them to use street tires anyway.

I'd love to do one lap as well one day. Back in the early 90's, a friend of mine and I were going to buy a 85 Z28 and build it to do that, but never happened.

Stories by Brock Yates are hilarious as to what they were able to get away with back in the day.

Posting pics of the R-comps on the OEM wheels....check them out when you get a chance.

LOL, well I'm going to have to move soon because I'm going to a FOUR wheel/tire system:

1) Neros for fall/spring/summer
2) WinterSports for winter
3) R-comps for auto-x
4) Azeni 615s or BFG KDW2's for road course

Main reason why I didn't use the r-comps is that one that is shredded wouldn't have passed tech, I have to get it shaved somewhere. Second reason was rain was kinda threatening all day. R-comps plus rain on a high speed course would have meant major trouble.

Ahhhhhhh I get it...

Well, After this week, I'll be up to 3 wheel / tire combos....
1) Winter
2) Auto-X R-comps
3) Summer fun / occasion NP atuo-x.

BTW... love the header under your screename.... dirt bad, asphalt good...

One more thing before I forget....

Trunkmonkey ( Morgan ) is working at Collins family motorsports now. He's working on getting me a better deal on the EVO 5's and tires....

Tires look good Brian. Should have lots of fun with them. When are your new ones getting in for daily driving?

Hahaha, thanks Brian. That's the mantra at the track, there were several....*ahem* "excursions" yesterday. None by me, thankfully. Viper took out turns one and two yesterday, that was fun trying to dodge the marker posts at 60mph.

Well, as soon as my income tax check is deposited, I will be ordering them for sure. Should be in within the next couple days.

Then comes the Koni Adjustable inserts....

Well I finally won't be one of the few stock cobalts in the Pittsburgh area. Dave put my 2.9" on yesterday, then I headed home and installed the 42# injectors and its at the dealership right now getting reflashed.

Also realized yesterday that the '06 tune does not bleed off boost after 12-12.5 PSI with a smaller pulley. I hit 15 PSI on my way home from Dave's yesterday at about 4500-5000 RPM's.

The injector install wasn't too bad. Just took my time and followed the directions. I did however get a nice spray of gasoline in my face from the pressure left in the line when I unhooked it. I thought it had it completely covered with rags/towels when I took it off... I thought wrong. Luckily for me I had some safety glasses on.

Yeah, the spark plugs and injectors were a snap on Wes' car. I think Dan ( RL ) and I did them in less than 10 minutes.

I'm one of the few charter "stock SS's" left.

We're like the dinosours.

I'm still more or less stock too. So don't fret. lol. My only mod of any performance-ish value is my DC strut bar. Otherwise we're talking under dash neons, Kenwood radio, etc. But in the nexdt few months (now that winter is basically gone) I'm getting tint, Injen CAI, and my underbody neon kit. Probably a tranny tune as well. So we'll see.

I don't have a cat so I just put mine where the rear o2 sensor goes. Then just zip tied the rear o2 underneath to something. I think Al took his to some muffler shop in robinson, quick and easy. Jeff at 1st Try can do it, so can any muffler shop.

Striker,

Don't be so quick to be bummed. Many many times no one posts on ehre at all thru the day, and don't see it. BUT.... it is going to be Easter weekend, so maybe alot of people, Like me... have plans thruought the wekeend already.

Dan P. - ---- I got the wheels and tires ordered. More than they would've been thru an online place, but I prefer to order local and can pay cash, so I'm ok with it.

Enkei Evo 5's 18 X 7.5 with the 35mm offset. ( Hyper Black )
Kuhmo ECSTA SPTs 225/45-18

1300 & change for shipped and all.

Should be in between Friday and next week.

Can't wait to get them on.
