I agree, that was the first thing I said when I saw it on the news last night. You couldn't PAY me to stand that close to the track, especially with no guard-rail.

I remember a few years ago my buddy Glen and I were at Keystone, standing by the fence just past the 60' mark. Some crazy yellow door-slammer Camaro with at least a 502 in it launched and immediately started to go to the right... we both took off away from the fence like a shot. He kept it off the rail, but we weren't waiting around to find out...

I wouldn't go to anything outside of an SCCA event that WASN'T at a sanctioned track. That's why I don't even go to the flashlight drags at Zelie.

And yet the (non)-spectators at SCCA events raise a fuss when you tell them "Why, no Captain *******, you cannot in fact stand next to that hairpin turn to get as you say 'kickass' pictures." No one really realizes, even if not a single car breaks 60mph on track, you can have some UGLY results. Not to mention there are courseworkers that don't even know how the hell to pay attention on course, let alone someone with no experience at an auto-x event.

Uh huh. I would have taken one look at that, saw no guardrail and left. That's just ASKING for trouble.

In all fairness... she is making the payments, so it's her car to do with as she sees fit...

The world would be a pretty boring place if everyone owned nothing but RWD V8's.

Jesus... what the **** happened here? I'm all for a little poking fun... but it's turned into a ******* preschool act around here.

First off, I think everyone in our local group knows what they drive and what it's capable of. No one needs anyone to tell them what they run in the 1/4 mile. Secondly, I don't think anyone here wants to hear **** about what their car/time is worth. When you pay for it, then you can judge what's worth it and what's not. Thirdly, flat out insults are not "jabbing" or "poking fun".

I'm all for you GTO guys hanging out with our group... but as we saw the other night, your cars aren't the fastest things on four wheels either. So can we put aside the "mightier than thou" mentality and get back to what our group does best... talking/admiring/modding cars? I'm getting sick of hearing nothing but trash talked on anything that's not a V8.

first off, theres no pre school act around here

second, we kindve knew what the outcome would be of that race (modded evo vs near stock gto), i think we were past that, and besides ill just have to install a few parts and come back and kick his ass thats how this game is played.

and third, we took our own bit of getting trash talked too, we just give it back, but to us its all in good fun.

point out where we came on here and trash talked the cobalt ss's?

now on a happier note

lets stop and start beating on mustangs

4, the LS/LT is not a performance car. I did not say you need to sell your car for a v8... but modding the base models is just stupid, sell it for an SS or something

Wow..... look at all what I didn't miss while I was sleeping last night.

Amazing how one little comment upset the happy little world.

That is all....
