Pittsburgh Crew < You
Wow... I just got home from work. Looks like Dave is retiring????? I don't get it.
Anyway, yeah, sometimes we're all busy and don't get to post much. I was barely on the forum at all today. Busy, busy day. I think I got on here to post for like 10 minutes, then had more work to do. Ugh. Anyway, dinner time.

Heads up by the way... I got an infraction. Since it's Halfcent, I can see myself mouthing off... so a ban might be on the way.
Hmmmmmmm so many comments to comments on about the comments....
1) Mike, how often do you come out for wings for it to matter?
2) I thought that smell was Alicia's brakes from her track day, but maybe it's a change of venue... it's soo hard to distinguish
3) Dan, you know that is 100% and also the reason you bought it, so why argue??? It's like buying a V6 Camaro... Sure you can do it, but why?
( Note: The amount of sarcasm in this post is only a reflection of my good mood today. Not trying to get anyone riled up.. )

Quick question for Dan or Al...
How much power can the stock 2.2 crank take? Would it be worth spending an extra $300 or so and just get the Eagle Forged 2.2 crank? I can get a stock 2.2 crank from GM for about ~450, and a few places sell the Eagle one for ~725. I thought maybe the forged one would be a bit lighter, help with the revs too since now the stroke will be longer.
Can't seem to find a used one on eBay or other forums, plus I don't know if I want a used one.
Also, is the flywheel bolt pattern the same? Would I need to get new bearings? Does this all need to get balanced at a shop is that a waste? Trying to get a complete shopping list. I want to yoink the block out this week sometime.

Bearings are cheap and a sound investment. I'm not 100% sure if you would NEED it balanced, but if you want things the best you can, it can't hurt. Doing it right the 1st time is usually cheaper.
Can't answer the other questions.

How are you buddy???
Can't wait for Auto-X Season ( 2 weekends! ) to start to try out the new R-comps.
I'm open to one here and there. I don't want to do TOO many as I'm told I'm only going to get maybe half a season on the R-comps. I am not THAT worried about it, since I'm planning on buying a 2nd set later one once I see what kind of room I got, what I can fit, and how they work.
If I do nats this year ( which I'd like to ), I'll be buying a set before then for sure.
You let me know what your summer is going to look like and I'll let you know when the events are.
there's TONS going on.

Well here's the thing. You are going to chew through the R comps a bit faster at first until you get used to the grip. I would budget 3 sets this year, with your nationals set going on about 3 autocrosses before you go to Kansas. This will get them juicey and sticky. I always found about 12 runs would get mine perfect.
That being said, I will be a bit easier on the tires than you. Nothing personal, I am used to driving on them and you will no doubt catch on pretty fast after the first set or so. However, I only would plan on me showing up for about 3-4 events during the whole year but it will give you a yard stick to compete against for times in the same car. Think of my return as Rocky 6 in autocrossing. The old timer gettin back in the ring to see what he can still do

It may be easiest to send me your calendar and I'll let you know what I can hit a few weeks in advance!
