Well, I'm beat. Denny, Dan P and I autocrossed today and we all had a blast ( at least I think they had a good time ). I didn't do too bad I think. Denny was doing REALLY well for his 1st time out. Everyone commented on the cool black EVO.
Dan P. kept getting quicker as teh day went on and was down in decent times. The car looked good running the course in the sportlines. I think Dan is wanting some stickier tires for sure.
If it's not raining, I will be @ PRP as well.

I'm probably in for PRP as well.
Hahahaha, welp I have returned from the Dragon. Interesting weekend. The road itself is both awesome and terrifying. **** up on one side, you end up on your roof in the ditch....**** up on the other side and you're down a 150' hillside into a river. Moral of the story: DON'T **** UP. I ran it about 5 times. Dan, suspension didn't get fubar'd ON the Dragon, got fubar'd on the access road to the campground. Finally killed off the right front shock. Gravana cannot bring these coilovers out fast enough, I'm tellin ya. I don't want to spend money on a shock when I have those coming....eventually.... Additionally after only 5,000 miles, I need new brakes. Me thinks I've gotta do calipers too this time, I think that's what's made the brakes go bad.
Before we left we saw a MINI flipped in the ditch on the right, there was markings on the road that weren't there when we got there from an accident investigation, which means someone was either killed or VERY seriously injured. Two more MINI-sized gouges were taken out of the ditch in different places. Very, very scary road if you can't control your vehicle or your lead foot.
Speaking of lead feet....almost got 2 tickets in VA. One because we got sick of left lane cruisers and decided to drop it and do a two-lane dive, cop eyed us each up pretty good. Second time coming back I was cruising just below 70 in a 65, moving WITH traffic, go past a cop, figured for 5 over he wouldn't bother. Picked through the pack and nailed a silver BMW. Don't know if it was just cause that's who pulled over first or if he had a radar detector.
Everything else was kinda blah, but that's a long story. Moral: don't go camping unless you know the people you're going with are willing and experienced campers. Otherwise it makes for one HELL of a long weekend.
Oh yeah, and I locked my keys in the car....$70 mistake right there.

Yah wes hope the car is ok, i got the wideband installed today, it idles great but i got on it in 2nd and 3rd gear and it ws burried at 10.0 the whole way through 3rd gear. Im running rich as hell. As far as the dual pass and H/E installation ill be doing that as well as soon as i get my H/E, also im probly gonna drop down to a 2.7. Clearly the 2.8s make really good power but ill drop just a little more than than and go with the 2.7. Honestly after the 2.7 i dont think there is a damn difference at all.
Im gonna try to make it out to prp as well, I have to work at 10pm, but im gonna see if I can go an hour late or something...
And Alicia, my dad has taken his BMW bike down through there a few times and says its ALOT of fun

DAVE, AL, AND I are still in the garage. <- isnt that a fragment too?
My mom used to always bitch at me for saying things like the above.
ZOMG!11! LOLORZZZZ111!!!!11! ew er raight! mie fallt.
By the way, the heat exchanger makes a very noticeable difference, after we got most of the air bubbles out. The h/e takes a good amount of dex. I cannot believe how much heat soak I was getting in 2nd and 3rd after two or three hard runs. 3rd feels like a new gear, much stronger...no lag up top, like I usually got. Couldn't log my IAT2s, though. Al's data cable worked for a few minutes, and then we couldn't get my car to turn it on (?). Thanks to Al and Dave for all their obsenities and help.
I also made sweet love to Al's car. Dan's got pics to prove it. Giggity.

Yeah, that pic isn't bad... I like the one after it better though... I love my car in "squat & turn" mode....lol
That other pic of me is the background on the computer now.
BTW Denny... You mentioned helmets... as long as they're SNELL Rated... they can be a motorcycle helmet ( SM ) for Autocrossing. That holds true to both SCR events and the NP ones. If you plan on track days though, you might want to just go and get a SNELL ( SA) rated helmet.
Just FYI.

I did hit my head like a ******* getting into the car with the helmet on LOL so my neck/back is killing me still. From then on I learned to put the helmet on AFTER I got in!

Haven't found Dan's pics yet - trying to sneak peeks between VP's walking around here LOL
I wasn't too bad in the full helmet yesterday without the visor on, so I will probably just get one of those.

They make some moto helmets that aren't full faced as well, so you could look into those as well. The full faced ones make me turn my head too much.
Yeah... I found the same thing out early one...
step 1) Get in car.
step 2) Put on helmet.
Thanks, BJ. Good to hear that you might make it out. Hope it's before there's a car seat in it.
Seriously.... if you come out... there's alot of tough competition in DS. There's a MS6, MS3, and of course Scott in the WRX wagon. But don't forget about the BMW 3 series. He's a tough guy as well.
I'll be in Washington Pa this weekend for the SCr events #2&3.

I might not make car cruises much during weekdays since my car is filthy 10 minutes after getting to work everyday... it's depressing to clean it and then look like poo the next day.
That said, I still might make a few to spectate here and there.
Yeah , we run into all kinds of people... both good and bad that own the SSsssssss's. That can be said for almost any kind of car, BUT... when you're talking "entry level" cars, that's especially true.

but you need to let go of shame... just ask phantom how i showed up to the fuddruckers cruise last monday... i was running late, so i ran it through an automatic touchless, and the damn things dryer was broken, and ihad no towels on me.... so i drove as fast as possible
and when i got there, the car was so infested with waterspots, it was hideous... but oh well
Re-downloading Picasa so I can upload my Dragon pictures. None of my car on the dragon because I was driving and shooting at the same time. Only have pics of my car at camp and of our friend Paul's JCW MINI.
Brian, I'm planning on making at least one event at Falconi this weekend. Don't know about both, money is so tight this paycheck it's not even funny.
