Pittsburgh Crew < You
first i got onto the turnpike at new stanton, and got pulled over before irwin for doing 81 in a 65. then traffic was backed up at churchill until the tubes. and then after i got off at the 3B exit i took the first left and that took me past the hospital back to the parkway. in the end, after going thru downtown, i ended getting there ten minutes late but i did find i nice little place to park the bike behind thaw hall. after that the ride to cal sucked. its just going to be a long semster. pitts fine, but the drive sucks.
Was kinda funny to hear the cop stutter over the make of my car, though, when radioing in the call. He was standing by the quad door...
"...on a blue, uh." Pause. Shines his light on my steering wheel, then moves to back bumper. "Saturn?"

PFFFFFFT you're going the newb way (assuming you were trying to get to Oakland). Take 30 all the way in. 30 through Forest Hills, keep going UNDER the Parkway, straight into Wilkinsburg. Stay on 8 (Penn Ave., there's another road that cuts off before it, but too lazy to type that route out). Penn will eventually hit Fifth Ave. Left onto Fifth Ave, take that to Pitt. Should be about 40 minutes or less from Irwin to campus.
i guess its a 15 day suspension if they want it to be ticket... not sure really... going to fight it to the death tho...
******* cop also gave me a $382 "no insurance" ticket, because i had forgot to bring my newest insurance card into the car and the one i had on me expired 2 days prior.
i called the court house that day and said i would have my insurance company fax them a copy of my current card, and they said ihave to send in the whole amount with the bottom portion of the ticket pleading not guilty and have a hearing.... BS

It's actually not too bad. I can make it from the Irwin car show to my house in under 25 minutes - usually VERY close to 20, it's another ~20 or so in to Oakland. If you make the left before Penn, it's better. Only a handful of lights and no traffic.
Nope dont know anyone that goes there now. I used to know 4 people that went there. All of them learned how to fix fuselages and are now making awesome money. 2 moved to Atlanta, 1 in St. Louis and the other one works in San Fransisco. Nice to see another sunburst orange SS/SC. You need to come hang out with us.
humm i knew someone that graduated from there in 2003, could not find a job to save his life, except for chump change in alaska, ended up working in a machine shop welding for 3 years, he just got a job as a quality control engineer, and thats because of his current engineering studies at point park

I bet im the only SBOM balt that hit a cow doing 80!
The best though, my friend Nate hit a bathtub. It was just sorta laying in the road around a blind turn. Worst part was insurance denied his full claim because he hit the bathtub so he had to pay the deductible. To have him retell the convo with the agent is a scream:
Nate: Yeah, hi, I uh hit a bathtub and need to make a claim.
agent: OK, sir, now did you hit the bathtub or did the bathtub hit you?
Nate: Um, I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're asking?
agent: Well, was the bathtub moving when it struck your car?
Nate: It's a bathtub, how on earth would it be moving?
agent: You know, was it moving on the road and came into your path?
Nate: I'm still not getting this. It's not a kamakaze bathtub. I came around the corner, it was there, I hit it, now all I want to do is file my claim.
agent: Well, we need to know is whether you were at fault or the bathtub was at fault.
Nate: I came around a corner and the bathtub was just THERE, I had no way of seeing or avoiding it until it was too late. My driver's ed teacher nor any defensive driving instructor I've ever had has covered how to avoid bathtubs that wander out into the middle of the road. I don't see how this could possibly be my fault.
agent: So you're saying that the bathtub was already sitting there when your vehicle struck it.
Nate: YES!!!!
agent: OK, so all you'll need to do is get it to a body shop and have them appraise it then you'll pay your deductible and we'll cover the rest.
Nate: NO! Why is this not fully covered. I shouldn't have to pay anything.
agent: Well sir, since you stated you hit the bathtub that was stationary you are at fault. Had it been the bathtub that hit you, you'd be fully covered.
Moral: Whatever you hit, ALWAYS say it was moving and hit you.....LOL
