Al, Keith's car broke so Im gonna be driving him around, gonna stop down Jeff's too for a bit. Talk to him about the project, prices and time frame.

Anyway, when we're done, we might be heading to your place a little early, but I'll call first.

Oh and for those who don't know, open invitation to my place tonight for massive drinking, pool playing, and poker. I got beer and other assorted malt beverages, but if you want liquor, bring it.

And sorry I couldn't make it to Sing Sing, too much to do here to get ready for tonight, plus I had to keep an eye on Angie, she's been feeling pretty shitty the past couple days.

If i remember correctly they are from Cummins diesel truck engines. Like industrial truck engines not the junk found in Dodge's heavy duties. I think Cummins actually owns Holset....

You got it. Considered to be overengineered as well.

That's what I was thinking too, Tim.. just wasn't sure. Although I wouldn't necessarily call the 5.9 Cummins 'junk'... I'd take one over a Duramax any day!

The Cummins found in dodge has a weak valve train. Much similar to the problems found in Ford's Powerstroke. I would still say that the Powerstroke is the best small diesel out of the Big 3 - at least until it fails which it seems most ultimately do.

Im gonna pretend u didnt just say powerstroke is the best...they are replacing the current one after 4 yrs cause a lot are blowing up at 100k miles. The Duramax is a very nice motor. The Cummins is king...it IS an industrial design. Used in chassis larger than the 3500 dodge application. It is the strongest in the light duty/medium market period as far as consumer vehicles. I forget its exact coding but its used in way more than just dodge pickups

HAppy new years all!

If I was to buy a HD truck.... it would be that Duramax. Yes, the Cummins is a better motor, but the overall package is better in the GM.

I'll take the Allison Tranny FTW.

Hey..... if anyone wants... I'm heading to TJ's tonight for wing night. 50 cent FULL wings from 8PM till 11PM

I'll be there for 7:30-ish

The motor used in the 98-02 Ram is the ISB Series engine. It's technically a "medium-grade" engine and is one tough mother. Look under the hood of a Peterbilt and what you'll see is basically a larger version of the Ram engine...
