Yes but those 2 credits are $50 each to buy more, so essentially $100 is just paying for the car to be unlocked.

So what do you think is a good price to charge people for tunes after credits are paid for?

A professional dyno tune will run you 4-500.

A street tune, I dont know, I work on my own car.

I think credits ($50) each + $50-$100 for time is a good deal. For those just wanting rev limiters - speed limiters - "Nanny" Controls removed - shift firmness turned up. Ive never used HP Tuners tho, so i couldnt say for sure who hard it is to use.

HPT isn't that hard to use. I think we've all at least looked at it if not played around with it. Given past experiences it's pretty much every tuner for his or her self. Tuning for others just opens up too many cans of worms.

So like 500 for a professional dyno tune, and probably about 200 for a normal tune? I'd say that's fair.. Now where do I sign up? haha

True f***ing up someones ECM/TCM will cause problems, but if they're there and agree to the changes I don't see the problem. Maybe a contract could even be made. Im not a professional, but i know what settings id change if i had a HP Tuner available.

I would be VERY VERY careful with this idea.

You will see what I mean once you start digging into it.

Its better then buying a ECM from the net for 300-500 and having it not do a damn thing or having it run your car lean. This way you could atleast see whats being done to your ECM right in front of you and its cheaper. Don't wanna risk playing with your A/F ratios? Thats fine, you can just get your torque controls turned off, and your rev limited raised if ya wanted. Every car has different setting that can be changed so every case would be different, but you get the idea.

I paid $475 for a dyno tune from Jeremy Formato, one of the premier LSX tuners. $75 of it was for the dyno time. He also rode with me out on the street for a bit.

I hardly think any of us need schooled on tuning considering most of us had the most modified cars on the forum at one point. Some still do.

LOL, yep. It's not that there aren't tuners already in the area....there are......very, very good ones. I'm learning and will have access to HPT, but I would never even consider doing it for others.

Im just stating having someone local that can tune would be better then just ordering a ECM over then net sight un seen from a "professional".

Yeah, it's not a question of whether or not the knowledge is there......we've got one of the most knowledgeable groups around when it comes to tuning. Even if I were at a level where I felt comfortable enough to do it for others, I still wouldn't.

See below.... And I would NEVER suggest a canned mail order tune, By Dyno tune I meant getting the car strapped to a dyno, and tuned by somebody who does this as a PROFESSION... like Jeremy Formato, or the countless others.

There are quite a few locals that are familiar with HPTuners, and even a couple that are great.

I hear magical potions and spells help too...

Id suggest not waiting to get hptuners before learning tuning theory, I would suggest starting to read the hptuners forums, and some EFI Tuning books.

I'll tell you what... if you want to pay $200, I'll buy HPT and remove torque reduction, remove speed limiters, raise rev limiter, etc. for you.
