Mainly, I've been exploring that option for a couple reasons... one, because walking up to a girl and starting a conversation is (for me) VERY difficult to say the least; and two, I thought I might have a better chance of finding someone "decent" that way than doing the bar thing. Maybe not... next stop is church!
The dating service / online dating thing is just as pointless as the bar scene.

1) You SEE a pic of the person and that makes you curious. If you saw a girl @ a bar that was cute, you'd be more inclined to talk to her than her friend that is so/so. Chances are that one is the nicer of the two, but you go for what attracts you physically.

2) Just as in a bar... an online profile is them telling you what they want you to hear. Anyone can say they're a great find and say what YOU want to hear. It's only 2 or 3 dates later that you find the bodies stashed in her garage.

3) Anyone saying.. I'm not someone who worries about someone's looks... well that's BS... if they don't care what you LOOK like, how can there be physical attraction? I know a girl that told me she wasn't attracted to good-looking guys... so that means your boyfriends are ugly?????

It may be "what's on the inside" that counts, but there has to be some level of attraction there on the more primal level, or the relationship will be short lived.

When you say "go the church route".... HUH?

I never understaood that rationalization. Let's go to church to find a mate. Are you a regular church goer?? If not, that is a BAD way to meet someone. If they are a regular, and you're not... you've got different ideals and priorites, and belief levels are a BIG deal to some.

Ok.. I'm ranting.

Do what you need to make yourself happy. What do I know....

^^ Good points.

In all honesty, I think I just need to go about my business and live my life, and if it happens it happens. If it doesn't, well, life goes on. There really aren't any "good" ways to meet people these days; it pretty-much has to be a 'chance' thing...

One thing I have learned in the last few years- it isn't worth trying to be someone you're not and 'impress' them. That's a good recipe for ending up miserable.

Looks good, Brian. Do you happen to have all your pics somewhere? My cousin tried to go last-minute and plans fell through, told her I'd see if I could get her some pics from the show. We're already making arrangements for a family road trip next year :-)

I have only about 200!

That's why I've not posted all of them.

I'll post more of the Camaro tomorrow. I left the disc @ home.

If I could borrow that disc at some point, that'd be awesome. She was really bummed about not getting to go, I told her I'd at least try and scare up some pics. LOL next year me and at least 4 of my cousins will be invading Detroit. Funny thing is it'll be 4 girls and only one boy. The only other boy that's old enough to go isn't into cars at all.

It looks like I'm going to be off for a while due to the weather(can't build stuff in the snow and cold). I'll give you a hand Wes building your engine. I don't have too much else to do.

I will let you know when we start tearing **** down.

Ok, here is the part list I got so far, please feel free to give advice on what else I should consider or not consider.

Diamond 10:1 Pistons w/ Coatings
APR Head Studs
Cometic Head Gasket
Neutral Balance Shafts
SuperTech Valves
SuperTech Valve Springs
Comp Cams
Cylinder Sleeves
Ported Head
Ported Blower

I have a couple questions. Should I get one sleeve or four? I figured since I am getting new pistons with new rings, just get 4 new sleeves. Also, what do you think I should do as far as rods? Trust the stock ones or just replace them with H-Beam just incase? I figure I would have to get 2.2 rods and then change to 2.2 pistons as well to go with them, which I don't think would be a problem. I just don't want to have to touch anything on this engine again.

Also might pick up a few other goodies depending how much I have left over. TAG Meth Kit, Vibrant 421 Header, and Axels.

Wes, I would definately go now adn get some stronger rods. Can't hurt, and might as well do it while the car is apart. Any reason why you're not boring the motor out instead of sleeving? You could always make a stroker motor, bump the displacement up to a 2.1, 2.2, etc... Since I'm new to the Ecotecs, I'm not sure what kinda wall is left there to bore out.

If you're going thru all that work getting more air in, I would think the header is a no-brainer as well.

Alicia, I will make a copy of the pretinent pics and get you it next time I see you. I'm uploading new pics as I type this.

I honestly think the stock rods will take 500 crank hp, but if you want to bulletproof it then why not. I believe the performance rods are the same for the 2.0 and 2.2.

What made you choose Supertech valves and springs over Ferrea?

You really don't need to replace all the sleeves if one is damaged. They are going to have to be honed. Just get all new sleeves and then you don't have to worry about overboring and creating more displacement. I don't think its a good idea to change the dimensions even a little bit. You could have other problems with fitment.

I am debating on getting in on some of these group buys. I know they have the Vibrant Header & DP combo in a GB.

As for axles this is the cheapest I've seen them.

Dilemmas dilemmas.

OK, so as I posted a while back, I was given an official full-time job offer pending grant approval at my other job. It'd be good money, I like my boss, the name looks good on a resume (Thomas Starzl Transplantation Institute/University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing). The downside is, it's not full-time YET and if the grant is not approved then I have no job. (She'll more than likely get the grant though.)

So thought I had things figured out....then I went to my other job today. THEY offered me a part-time job with more hours (30/week). Here's the catch, my boss pretty much said "Name your price, we'll pay you whatever." He said they'll match what the other job would pay full time, with 10 less hours.

I like both jobs about equally, I like the people I work with and work for at both jobs. I guess it's time to go home and see what the outside benefits are at both. I know I'd have benefits/insurance at both jobs, but I don't know what else. LOL. I hate making decisions...

Any input/advice?

It sounds like you have quite a decision to make. Thats something you have to live with for a while. I would right down all the pros and cons of both jobs.

Hours
Pay
Health Benifits
Retirement Benifits
What you enjoy doing more
Driving time & traffic
Stress

I'm sure there is more then that.

Well, you seem to like this job a little better don't you? As much as you call off, lol. No annoying people and no interviews. I would definitely do what Steve suggested and figure it out on paper though.
