Slow night so it is story time

Kinda bored out here so I gess I'll relive what little time I had with my SS/SC.

On my way to the LS1tech/LS1GTO Dyno day on ST. Patricks day. My friend with an NO2 Mustang GT pulled up next to me for a quick run. We started from a 30mph roll and I immedatly gained a fender on him. I shift into third and get the pattented Cobalt clutch slippage to put me nose to tail with him. I start realing in him in just as we reach a stop light. I look past my passenger (who was kicking himself for not bringing his vette) to see a big grin on the stang drivers face and a huge plume erupt from his purge. He let me get about a car and a half in front of him and as soon as he hit third gear he punches it. I saw the hood raise up as he goes shooting by me. At the dyno he made 2 runs on the gas and made an unimpressive 280whp/280wtq, Once we redo where he is spraying he should make more power (75shot dry BEFOR the MAF). I made an equaly unimpressive 239whp/220wtq. Thanks for reading this totaly irrelevent to anything 4 month old story.

Any storys/info you feel like sharing

Thirty six years ago I was right in your shoes.Southeast Asia was not exactly my dream vacation.
We didn't have the internet or e-mail so talking to freinds and family was a little more
difficult. We relied on snail mail delivered via Huey and handed out with great
aplomb by a postal clerk.Because the corner drug store would not develop film containing nudity ( well they probably did they just didn't give it back to you ) the only way to get those hot photos of your wife or girlfreind was if they were lucky enough to own a Polaroid. My hearts desire back then was Julie Freck, a honey blonde with fabulous nipples and legs that went past her ass.But she was still only second on the list. All I really wanted was to drive her around in my car,and park of course. '59 Corvette, not the hottest car in town as it had a mere 283 with a four barrel and a three speed trans. But I loved that car,and it attracted more women than Hugh Heffner.Red with a removable hard top and chrome reverse wheels, and glass packs that could wake small children in the next county.
After being virtually unnoticed in high school, I was suddenly the King of Cool.Needless to say those days are gone but not forgotten.Don't it always seem to go,you don't know what
you've got till it's gone.
Come home safe soldier.

Thanks for the tail and the well wish. Every one here is trying their best here and every lil bit of encouragement helps. This is my 4th major deployment so it is hard not to get the "been there, done that mentality".

The 58 'vette is my mothers dream cars...her office wi plastered with c2 and c3 stuff lol.

My Uncle is a Sgt. Maj. currently in Djibouti. Centcom HOA. What he tells me
is attitude is everything.
Then he sends me a photo of his digital thermometer.....132 degrees, another balmy
overcast day in Africa.I'm not sure what is worse the heat and dryness of where you are
or the heat and humidity of where I was.My wife always wants to know why the weather never seems to affect me,it's because I ignore it.Amazing...the things that stay with you for years.

Seems like no matter how much Tech. has changed people are still the same. lol

I'll take heat and dry over the wet...if given the choise send me to the cold. You can aways change your cloathes and put more on when cold...but when you are hot there is only so much you can take off.

Damn aja, where the hell you at out here. Its only like 115 in Baghdad. Almost home though bro. You going to roll with me in November?

And I got an idea. If anyone knows how to start a group on the site, lets start a military group. Oh hell, we're all stationed near each other too.
