F35 5 speed Transmission- 4.45 gears

$1250.00- F35 5 speed Transmission- 4.45 gears rebuilt byJohn Powell. Trans has approximately 10,000 miles on it since rebuild. It is inexcellent shape with no issues. I do not beat on my car. The transmission wasthoroughly cleaned and painted by me. Every nook and cranny was cleaned before applyingHi Temp primer and paint. I am selling this because I have since installed theF40 6 speed in my Cobalt. This transmission does not come with a speed sensorbecause I am using it in my 6 speed. Other than that it is ready to go!

....

Did you use the ZZP Saab kit or the OTTP Regal one, and how are you liking it?

ZZP 6 speed conversion. Quaife LSD. This is probably the best upgrades I did besides the ZFR. So nice to drive. Very smooth. I totally recommend if you have the bucks. If not the 4.45 5 speed is good.

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy the lsd for my f40. Might aswell before I install it I've been waiting long enough to do it either way

..

I agree on the 4.45. Its what i have. Always feels like its right in the power band ready to pounce. The trans didn't effect my fuel economy either. None. If I didn't already have one I'd jump on this one, great deal. Good luck with sale!

@ Snail. I’d definitely do the LSD. Very easy install. I did mine. I did have to use a different shim during setup. I have a lot of info and pics for my F40 if you need.

I would be glad to share. I’ll just need some time to get it together.

Is that price shipped? If so i might think about taking it. I need for my fully built LDK, my 4.05 2nd gear synchro is shot. I'm in Houston TX, 77504.

shipping is separate. Looks to be approximately $190 to your location. I have a nice wooden box that I built for the transmission when I shipped it to Powell two years ago. The 4.45 gears are very sought after for F35 I paid $700 for the gears alone. Powell went through the trans and said it was in excellent shape. My bill from Powell was $2100 plus I paid shipping. It only has approximately 10,000 easy miles on it. Besides needing the speed sensor it’s readt to install and go. I am in no hurry to sell. If money is an issue than you could probably find another 4.05 geared F35 a lot cheaper.

Lsd?

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but does this trans have LSD in it or is it a rebuild with 4.45 gears no LSD? thanks.

That’s is not a dumb question. It is an omission on my part not putting that in the description. Yes it does have LSD. I can’t imagine these cars without one. LOL

AGREED

So, I want this bad. I have massive gear whine in all gears; cruising, accel and deaccel. BRUTAL. From what I gather, this could be preload on the final drive, whining trans output shaft bearings, intermediate shaft, etc. It's mega loud and can be heard over the radio at 2/3 volume. I'm trans shopping because I'm under the impression it's in the trans and not something I can just fix myself without replacement.

Is this trans loud? I'd hate to get it only to be as loud as my current trans. Also, I'm in NY and can pay cash and pick it up if need be.

I had absolutely no issue with noise. No whining at all. I used the South Bend Stage 4 clutch and stock flywheel with the trans which is listed for sale as well. RPM’ s are up on the highway cruise but it’s doable. 3k at 70mph.

I may have bad wheel bearings causing my howling noise and not the trans, truth be told I'd like this trans so I don't blow up third like everyone else does, but she shifts so nice, it's just loud! usually pretty good at diagnosing stuff (I tore my motor apart for cracked ring lands, glad my e-diagnostics were right!) so, I'll look into my bearings. If the noise is in my trans afterall, I'll scoop this up.

Also, how much for the SB St4 clutch and flywheel? Stock flywheel is the LNF flywheel yes? The LSJ one works too and is much cheaper, but is 2 lbs heavier. Any savings if purchased all together
