FS: GMPP Catback Rear Section

EDIT:

-----------

Hey guys,

Looking to sell my GMPP Performance catback rear section.. This would only be the muffler and the tubing to the tip. It also includes the GM double-wall bowtie tip welded on. The slant tip one. In other words, you can buy this and weld it directly in place of your stock muffler to get extra sound from your stock catback. Stock GMPP/SS 2.5 inch tubing. It's still on the car currently, however I am planning on getting it off this weekend. I will grab a picture tomorrow likely of it on the car. Otherwise I'll get one of it when I get it off.. The muffler is in solid, used condition. It is presentable, but certainly not new or immaculate. No damage or anything. Just looking to quiet everything down a little bit. Again, only for the rear section (past the axle). Looking for $80 shipped to anywhere in the US. Post or PM for questions or details. Again, will post pic soon. Hit me up.

Thanks!

I've heard different things from people that it is 2.5 and some that says it's 2.25.. lol Regardless, it'll clamp up to yours.. haha

There's probably about 60k on it. I'm the 2nd technical owner. Most of the miles are mine. It was on an s/c for a year, mine for 3, and another 2.4 for a week. haha Honestly, it sounds really good, and it'd sound even better on a manual, but it drags a bit too much for my changing tastes with an auto. I replaced the GMPP resonator with the stock SS one and there is very little drone now. So it'll work great with a stock SS system..

I'll get a picture up of what I'm selling tomorrow morning if at all possible, then I'll likely go get it removed and replaced with my new muffler on Saturday morning, so this'll be ready to go out on Monday upon PayPal payment..

It'll also be sent out via FedEX because they have a great box for shipping these GMPP cans.. lol It's a triangle. Perfect.

^^ Pick up is good also, but MD is a bit of a drive from certain points to Pittsburgh..

Why'd they make the GMPP smaller than the stock SS then? haha

I was told rthough that the tubing for the GMPP really isn't any different than the SS set up.. The main difference was the cans.. And also the rear section that goes over the axle. Straight instead of curved.. Sorta.. I kept the whole GMPP aside from the resonator so far.. The GMPP one was blown and dented..

the stock rear muffler is not a straight through design, hence why the gmpp out performs it

Well yes, but the actual tubing.. Any different? For some odd reason, my GMPP was always louder than anyones? lol It'd sound great on a manual, but it drags a bit for the auto.. The flow was nice though.. Just changing my approach on the car and looking for drivability over overall performance..

haha I've just had stock SS, this GMPP, and an Ark N2 for a week. hahahaha

It's so dumb because my Olds small block has a glass-pack and a side exit exhaust and it's far quieter than my Cobalt.. haha

These mufflers are really nice, I ended up getting a second one from a friend and using it for my dual setup, and I love it.

the gmpp exhaust wasnt really designed for the SS models. it is more of an upgrade for the 2.2's. does it flow better ?? yes, because of the muffler and res., but it isn't ideal for an SS/SC or SS/NA. Hell, they tested it on a 2.4 N/A and only gained like 3hp. It's a great exhaust don't get me wrong, but it is in fact smaller than the SS/NA and SS/SC stock exhaust. it is the best sounding exhaust out there i feel, and i was lucky enough to come a cross a touring muffler, and had it welded to my stock catback. it sounds so nice IMO.

P.S. Goodluck with your sale. It is a great exhaust and people should be jumping all over it !!!

The touring has a much better smooth tone. My friend had one on his 2.2 and it sounded great. The performance system is quite a bit louder..

So, got it off today and the new set up in place. So this GMPP is ready to go. I'mm gonna get a picture now..

Pics added to original post..

Yes. With my GMPP muffler and stock resonator, it basically sounded the same. Just less droney.

Don't worry - it'll be loud. lol
