the reason there are diffeent gaskets is due to the possibilit of SAI on the Cobalt and HHR. all LNFs use the same exhaust manifold.

The main point I made was all LNF's use the same exhaust manifold. Someone tried to put the LNF exhaust manifold on a 2.2 or was it a 2.4 and it did not go on.

No one did that. The thread you posted talks about INTAKE manifolds.(you cant use the intake manifold because LNFs are direct injected) The exhaust manifold patterns are the same.

Seems pretty clear to me. He says exhaust manifolds are close, but do not line up. He states after that the intake manifold is even further off.

No, I just didnt read......(i thought it was a different thread) But I still stick with the opinion that it will fit, the LAP and the LNF use the same exhaust manifold gasket, how could it NOT fit? I know theres some other guys that were talking that it does.

How about this............I will pay 09blackonblack the $6.45 for the gasket if it doesnt fit.

I have a feeling if you ask GM for part numbers, they will NOT come back the same.

yeah but we dont put part numbers on our cars, just parts. There are 3 different part numbers already for the LNF exhaust gasket.

Gaskets may change, but the manifold has not changed since it's release in Sky/Solstice.

Well if the 09 gasket is the same, but not the 08, you will need an 09 manifold only.

this isnt necessarily true. the new style SAI system uses spaces above the manifold in the head to blow air into the exhaust. It doesnt use the manifold. Its highly possible the manifold is the same.

huh? you said the manifolds are all the same? i dont have sai. so does that mean i need an 08 manifold? bc i know my exhaust pattern is the same as the lsj bc i have an lsj manifold on. i think your source done something wrong for it not to work.
on that note... im going with a blow through maf. should i put the bov right before the maf? or right after the intercooler?

If the manifolds are all the same and it didn't bolt up to one head, why should it bolt up to yours?

To avoid the hassle of having to recirc the BOV, place it on the hotside pipe before the MAF. Try to avoid any bends around the MAF to prevent turbulence.
