Welcome to the fun. Do something about the exhaust though, stock exhaust will hold you back quite a bit on the bottle. At least look for a catless DP and ported stock header... or buy mine when I get my Clear Image stuff...

07 cobalt ss/sc (silver)
gm stage 2, injen cai, 2.80 (silver car)
vs.
gm stage 2, airbox mod, 2.80, 50 wet shot

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/0...ssc_170224.htm

this is just after putting in my nitrous. it is actually less than a 50shot and i am running extra fuel. it is still on the gm stage 2 tune. i am not running a bottle warmer or pressure gauge or anything else other than i listed. yes it is still stock everything else (even headers, dp, and exhaust)

total money spent in brand new parts.

gm stage 2- $400
2.80 pulley- $50
filter- $20
sniper wet nitrous kit- $285
1step colder plugs from autozone (friend works there) - $5

-After we raced he said i pulled an easy 8cars on him. i went from 40-120 ish he said he went to 40-110 ish.
where did you get ur wet kit from

Not a fan of nitrous, but good runs non the less. I seriously suggest some 60's and a better tune for the juice though. Wanna race me with your spray?

i went from 42's and 2.9 to 60's last night with the help of jimboss and my idc at wot maxxed at 48%

i highly reccomend the 60's if you wanna be safe my 42's were completly stattic at wot with just 2.9 (granted i do have every airflow mod so i was moving more air than you requiring more fuel)

No, he'll be fine as long as he doesn't pass the 50hp shot level.

IDCs are the same regardles with a wet shot.
IAT2s are lower with nitrous
I warned the OP about running spray on stock exhaust.

Think before you post. I've done nitrous installs on 4 LSJs not counting mine, and I know personally 6 cars near me that have AT LEAST at 50 shot on stage 2 tune setup or similar.

Another reason for getting the 60s and a tune is you will be making alot more power and it will be safe.

no ******* duh they are through the roof before nitrous

and i said after back to back freeway pulls the measily 50 shot will drop iat-2 temps maybe 20* but when there at 190+ whats 20* (iat-1 probaly 50-70*) but what good is that the blower, manifold and h/e are heat soaked from the 2.8 and NO cooling mods, the stock system isnt even up to par with a 3.0 pulley peoples deffinition of safe is dangerous these days...

so refresh me again... and what happened to your nos motor?

nitrous does lower iat temps but creates tons more cylinder pressure= in rise in temps

im not new to nitrous by any means i use it on my car and my firebird in upwards of 200 shot so dont even try and school me on nitrous buddy... i have a univ kit that has seen 10+ vehicles none ever had an issue exept for a sohc saturn that ran a 75 shot and it blew the head gasket (4hr fix) never have i melted down a motor...

What does the car run on the track? Makes no diffrence to me what kind of car you raced or how bad you beat them. Let hard numbers do the talking and walking. The video's are amusing.

calm down jackass...he was running the 50 shot setup for a loong time with no issues. he upped it to a 65 shot and bottle pressure was too high. when he was spraying that night the tires were spinning hard at above 6,000rpm, the tires caught traction and lugged the engine back down to 4,000rpm and with such a severe load on the engine, he blew a ringland

Yeah, thats pretty much it. I was also running the higher shot without backing down the timing, which I knew wasn't good. In the end, no real damage done, just a cracked piston, car still drivable and fine. Just doing pistons and all will be well again.

Sorry bro, I don't live for the forums. I was out having dinner. Josh pretty much summed it up for you though.

I also do not advocate running a 2.8 on any tune or injectors without cooling mods. I sell dual-pass plates to people and have installed them for other guys locally, along with several H/Es, including on one of the nitrous LSJs I did.

I'm glad you have tons of nitrous experience, hope that helps you feel superior to me. I for one couldn't care less, my car was making tons of power before the stock parts wouldn't take any more, and when I get around to redoing it, it will be one of the strongest running cars on this site. I'm happy with that.
