ya i was looking at a T1i which is a huge upgrade from my current XTi that i have.
camera was giving err99 every other shot and would be random but did it all the time. tested the camera with a known good lens. same thing.
finally gave up and said screw it, i'll buy a new camera. well i pulled the casing apart from the XTi to take a look to see if there was a loose connection or something. nothing that i saw. so i put it back together and now it works 100% again. which is really weird but i'm not complaining one bit.

if i don't have to spend money i won't lol. thats my philosophy. just came at a bad time since when i started getting the error is when things finally calmed down from moving and i was able to get out and take some pic's. totally ruined that day for me

Yeah I have the money for the camera just not the time to learn film right now even though I want to. As far as your camera goes, hell knock on wood, keep it moving
.
Congrats! You could put it on Manual and go full into it or if you want an easier route, go to "A" for aperture priority, get yourself familiar with that; then move to "S" for shutter priority, get yourself familiar with that; and then full manual where you can play with the other 50 settings as time goes on: exposure compensation, metering, ISO, etc.
ya i'm just getting into metering and such...my advice is read the manual, read it again...then read some dedicated camera forums and articles that help explain the relationship between Aperature, shutter speed and ISO
and congrats on getting the camera in, you'll have alot of fun with it.

Indeed there are a lot of good quick tips sections out there that idiotify the settings and make them easy to understand. I'm just branching into Exp Comp now and I've been shooting for 4 years. Metering I usually leave it on full but I have at times gone to center and spot.
