2012 Official Photography Thread.
A couple from last night. I am still working on trying to get my milky way shots down. I am gonna invest in a 14mm soon, so I can get the wider shots. The 28mm just isnt cutting it for me.


Correct, this is an example of perfect vs imperfect. The affect has to do with the aperture blades within the lens. Because there are multiple blades each line intersection creates 2 streaks of light so if you have 7 straight blades you get 14 streaks. However with premium lens' that have curved blades for a more perfect circle the intersection of light can sometimes overlap creating only 7 streaks but the streaks we 2x brighter in the image. The amount of streaks are 2x the amount of blades in the lens unless the blades are smoothly curved.

cleaned the ride up the other day and snapped a few pics before i left the car wash. i still really don't know what i am doing, still learning, this is really the 1st time using the camera after my vacation last month. shot with a d5100 with 35mm afs f/1.8...lightly edited using the nx viewer software that came with the camera. be easy on me.....use ky please
