I'm not sure if you're sarcastic or not, but it's the 35mm 1.8.

I too, dabble in the art of over-editing.
..actually, my 2nd time using photoshop; ever.

**edit: for you 'murricans; that's the Canadian parliament in Ottawa, taken from the Quebec side over the river (the back of it, basically). Equivalent to the US Congress I think.**

That's pretty legit. You must have edited that background into the shot though, right? It may seem like a stupid question lol.

I've REALLY wanted to get into astrophotography for a while now, I just need to do some research and see what I need to get some awesome star shots. First investment would probably be a better camera .

My reasoning is I wanna buy a new lens, but say a few hundred more then I got a new camera.. Back track and think can I afford FF lenses? Maybe/no. Go back to I wanna buy a new lens for my crop. Repeat.

Eventually. Probably not anytime soon though...the wheels I want are pretty pricey; and I don't want to get anything but those, so until then the stock ones get plastidipped all the colors.

I don't blame you lol. I would probably buy a FF lens and keep my cropped sensor before I bought the FF camera. More so because I don't have any lenses at the current moment to justify even having a FF camera. I'd rather buy prime FF lenses and use them on my crop sensor then use my cropped sensor lenses on my FF body because I don't have the choice.

Unless I stumble upon a good deal on a FF camera, then I'll just pick one of those up. Still can't choose between the D600 or D610 as of right now so until I make up my mind I'll just keep a lens purchase as my next purchase.

I like the location of the 2nd shot and the position of the car. However, it is skewed way to much in my opinion. I literally tilted my head like 90* to the left to get a better look at the picture. Again, that's just my opinion though. The 1st and 3rd shot look like they have a lot of noise going on in the photo. Do you have your camera on Auto, or are you turning your ISO up too high? On the 1st shot, did you add that synthetic bokeh at the top?

It still looks pretty awesome, as does this one! I need to learn how to do that, I think I've got some good shots that a really dramatic background would look cool.

Most definitely.

-- thanks! it's really simple to change skies on these kinds of shots because the horizon is usually pretty far away and it doesn't have to be too perfect. Sure you can google skies and find a big picture, but your best bet is to go outside on a nice day, a cloudy day, etc, and shoot skies yourself so you have them for your own composites later on and you don't have to deal with copyright and all that crap; it's all your own work.

I figured as much with the synthetic bokeh. I personally think it damages photos, specifically because if you know what you're doing you should be able to have your camera make that effect.

Yeah that's a good idea. I've got some pretty good horizon shots too that would probably look pretty cool. I just need to play around with photoshop and practice doing it.
