not necessarily. I've seamlessly added blur in the back of shots to emphasize the subject, that's just poorly done. With cs6 you can actually add a light bokeh that looks very legit, as for blurs; it shouldn't be done so drastically, and if you're blurring a background you have to make sure that everything that would be beyond or before the shallow dof is blurred evenly, you can see the grass behind his car is clearly in focus but the grass that is right beside it isn't....makes it obvious.
example: the blur is fake as fwark - even if ''you're good enough to produce that effect'' sometimes circumstances don't permit it. I couldn't back up more so I had to shoot at 70mm instead of 200mm to compress the background, and I had the f/4 version of Canon's 70-200L so I couldn't actually produce a strong bokeh.

Oh absolutely. It's blurred, not bokeh. Like I said photoshop cs6 actually has a really legit light bokeh that looks like the real thing and is quite remarkable but I use cs5.1 - actually that pic was done entirely with Lightroom.
a before/after of the museum shot.

No sarcasm - I am what you would call f/small - hehe; I hate shooting wider than f/8 and if I could shoot at f/16 my oh my... Of course it does me no good when model shooting, then I break my rules and go to f/5.6.
Oh that's purddyyy - now unless it's totally dysfunctional it ain't no equivalent.

[QUOTE=Sh3itskees;7295458]I like the location of the 2nd shot and the position of the car. However, it is skewed way to much in my opinion. I literally tilted my head like 90* to the left to get a better look at the picture. Again, that's just my opinion though. The 1st and 3rd shot look like they have a lot of noise going on in the photo. Do you have your camera on Auto, or are you turning your ISO up too high? On the 1st shot, did you add that synthetic bokeh at the top?
yea I did do a synthetic at the top and I might of had the iso up to high ima post some more from our local car show

You know what they say, practice makes perfect! I highly doubt that you're "decent" at shooting drift/drag. I really wish I was going to TK2K14 this year so I could do some good shooting but I'm just not going to be able to make it. Which is really upsetting... I really wanted to go and get some good shots. I need to get more in tune with the local car scene and start doing some shots so I can get my name out there. I've recently been posting up some of my shots to pages that are applicable to whatever I'm shooting (aka shooting a car with a certain type of wheels, post the picture to their page) and linking my FB photography page in there lol. Shameless plugs all around.
