I think I'm gonna run around 20-22 psi for now and see how it works. It's wasy quicker then the SC was on meth even untuned. I had planned to tune it this weekend but it snowed. That sucks!

Yea you should see some good number with that, I am just waiting on a few things and will be doing a new front mount setup and running some higher numbers.

Vids are gonna be hard. Don't have a vid camera yet. Gonna get once sometime but I'm kinda broke right now lol.

At idle I'm at -9psi vacuum. My BOV came with a -11psi spring, it's the one that is supose to be for my vacuum range. But at low boost when I shift I can here surge for a sec before it will blow off. I tried a -9psi spring aswell and it's a bit better but still does it on shifts when I don't relly get into boost. Not sure why it's not working great. I've got a dedicated 1/4" vacuum line after throttle body.

Anyone got any ideas? Also did a boost leak test and found some leaks which I fixxed. How long should it hold boost for when testing?

What is the trim, to be exact?

And where did you get the Manifold? (ie. A website address please)

And the filter being there is hurting you more than you know. You could get a lot more power with a CAI. I'd dump the stock intercooler in the long run too.

the only thing i can think of is to run a lower bar spring to prevent the surge.

It is a T3/T04E 50 trim, .63 a/r and stage 3 wheel.

I dunno how it's hurting that much, the IATs are way lower then the SC before. I know of other people who have turbo builds way more in depth then mine doing the same thing. It helps spool quicker too.

Nice turbo... that's probably right about the size I will run.

Its not necessarily HURTING you... each has its own advantages. The colder air coming from a CAI will lower your AIT's even further... more than likely allowing you to run more timing... which, in the end, can help everything... including spool.

The "Short Ram" like that is useful as well, in the reason you stated, as well as a few others. But everything has pro's/con's.

jeez!

if you want to get picky like that then we need to look at the disadvantages of your CAI idea.

any length of intake pipe on the inlet of the turbo is slowing the turbo ability to build an effective PR

adding a filter to that situation only increases that effect, thus why big power turbos runs screens, not filters.

the filter slows air velocity and max flow limits, thus effecting PR regardless of shaft speeds.

just another example of every thing sucks in some way or another.

at least hes got the room to rock a filter.

Your point?

As I said... there are pro's and con's to each application.

my point is your argument on filter position is invalid.

As is yours. As I've said 3 times now... there are pros and cons to each. There is no right or wrong answer.

Its like trying to argue that Turbos are better than superchargers. There is no right or wrong. EACH has its place.

And a street car is a good place to have a CAI attached to your turbo. He's not going to be racing in the NHRA or the IHRA.

I was simply pointing out that the CAI will provide lower IAT's which will help to prevent knock.

which vendor.... im assuming rebel.... It seems for the power i want to get without a motor build im gonna need to turbo.... still a toss up due to the fact that im not sure what i wanna do yet.... but more detail about your setup would be great... like what parts u got on ur own.... looks like you have charge pipes from rebel also....

do u think you will benefit from having the blow thru style maf vs our regular maf..... did the stock connector work or did u need the one from the donor... just tryin to decide a route sorry for all the questions

you'd be amazed at how 2-3ft of intake pipe and a basic K&N add to the time and shaft rpm required to build an effective PR inside the compressor cover.

i've ran mine with a screen and with a filter, solid differance of aprox 300-370rpm (hpt logs)

thats a long time in a close race.
