one is a 5.3 vortec turbo and the other is a 6.0 vortec turbo

i dont have time slips or anything. but these cars moved damn good! the silverado launched in 4 wheel drive lol

One of them was on the Nova site I used to be on. I think so anyway, looks like his car. He bought it, put a 5.3 truck motor in it then fabbed some headers and a sheet metal intake. Last I heard he had a single turbo at 12-15psi? 650hp on a stock block and valvetrain.

Yea, i think he has heads and a cam i think. Still on stock crank.

I hope i can get times. I know the nova trapped 139 and ran like 10 seconds or so.

I would love to do a build like that. Those vortecs seem to be a dime a dozen too

Just read an article where they took a stock 4.8 liter. Put in new bearings and regapped the rings, threw in a cam and some heads and twin turbos and made 1200 hp. Said it had over 60 dyno pulls at over 20 psi and 1000 hp with no signs of the motor failing. Ls type motors are awesome

hell yea,ive heard of quiet a few people building those vortecs. or LS motors.

a friend of mine is putting a 5.3 with z06 heads,a cam,turbo pretty much stock motor block and internals,he should make around 600whp with it. he has a second 5.3 that hes going to build for when the first motor fails.

i really want to do something like that. my friend bought 2- 5.3 vortecs for 200$
