Painted My Calipers
Painted My Calipers
I finally got the chance to put the car up on the lift at work and paint the calipers and brackets. The car is Sunburst Orange so that was a must for the calipers, but i did not want the brackets the same as the car. So since i work for a Corvette dealer i decided to go with a 2003 - 2004 Corvette Medium Spiral Gray Metallic for the brackets and think they came out great and set off the Orange perfect. Tell me what you guys think and thanks for looking.

As soon as i get a weekend off i plan on giving her a full detail job and getting some more pictures. From what i'm told they look awsome when driving.

Thanks guys. I actually got some custom mixed enamel from a paint supply company up here. The Orange actually cost extra because they had to add a tint coat into the paint. I did the same thing with my Cavalier and it worked great. Its all in the preparation though.
Yes they look really good man. I like that the color doesn't seem to jump out at you as much as a bright red or yellow would. Yours look different, and good!
I was wondering if it was high-heat paint, but since you used the same paint on your Cavi you obviously know what you're doing. Good Job!!
Now you just need plated rotors!!

Do you pull the caliper and brackets off totally, disconnecting lines, and bleeding the lines afterwards. Or just unbolt and tape off /shield from overspray with lines still connected?
I was thinking of hitting mine with some red engine paint (red car).
Also it looks as if only the exterior of the parts were painted. I assume paint could do bad things when placed under that kind of pressure behind the pads. I'll keep that in mind

DC52EV: If they are done right and tastefully i think painted calipers can look great, besides it looks a ton better than once they get all pitted and rusted after a winter.
Thanks everyone for the complements.
