The ultimate appearance mod update
The ultimate appearance mod update
I wans't sure where to put this post... it kind of falls under several categories, but here goes... Coby has been at South Towne Collision, Sandy UT (Nick) for the past two weeks getting some minor body work done and a new paint job. Up to this point I have held back on starting a progress thread simply because there wasn't much to show. Well, the waiting is over... I will now keep you guys updated on Coby's progress.
Total cost will be around 3K for the work. When Nick says professional paint job, he means it! He has literally stripped Coby down just to make sure he gets every corner and crevice. I couldn't be happier with the way things are progressing...

Basically I am having some minor body work done and a repaint (you will have to stay tuned to see everything that is done - at this point there are several things that are up in the air)...
Oh, and the tails stay!!!

Oh, and the tails stay!!!
tails are FUUUUUGLY. i will stay tuned for the new paint job. i know damn well its not a repaint. otherwise why make such a fiasco about it and take soooo many pictures.... right? if im wrong... your obsessed with yourself entirely too much lol just for a ******* repaint.
^^^Apparently someone pissed in your cheerios...
As for the paint job, there are a variety of options right now (everyone at the body shop has gotten involved with project - even the shop's paint distributor) that we are exploring and as a result things are up in the air. I don't want to completely lose the SRTM as it is one of the things that makes the car what it is so we will just have to see how best to incorporate it... Once the paint panels are done we will have a better idea of where the car will be going (I am hoping to post those next week when they are finished)....

Unfortunately no updates yet... I went down on Friday to pick out look at paint panels but they weren't ready yet (100 mi round trip for nothing
). This week they are suppose to paint prep and block it so hopefully I will have something to show you guys next Friday....
I know there are a lot of you out there wondering why I would paint a practically new car.... Well it started out with trying to get a couple of small dents and chips removed. Sure, I could have taken my chances with having everything knocked out and blended but there was no guarantee how well the finished product would look/match. The SRTM color is a tricolor so proper blending and future hold up becomes tricky (to say the least). So next I explored the option of painting the areas, but for that to look right it would have taken an entire panel. So I figured with a little more investment I could get a customized paint job... problem solved!
Could we give up on the tails already (they are staying!)? Perhaps move on to criticizing the headlights or something....
